Before you all go bugging out to your nuclear bunkers or grabbing your INCH bags, grab yourself some hemp toilet paper and calm your butts down. The termination event has absolutely nothing to do with current global affainrs.
The termination event is related to solar cycles…that’s it, that’s all. What it means, in plain words, is that the lingering tail end of the previous solar cycle has officially ended. Why is this important? Here’s a brief explanation. Most of us that follow solar cycles for prepping purposes have been under the impression that the new solar cycle had already begun. This is actually true, but at the same time, the previous cycle was still hanging on.
The effect of these two overlapping solar cycles is that solar flares and CMEs produced by the new cycle (solar cycle 25) have been kept somewhat at bay by the tail end of the previous cycle (solar cycle 24). With two competing cycles doing their things at the same time, solar activity has been relatively low as far as affecting earth in any meaningful way.
Since solar cycle 24 has now officially ended, cycle 25 is now unimpeeded. This means that we can, as of today, expect more solar activity to reach earth when conditions are right. Another interesting theory, as reported by spaceweather.com, is that the shorter overlap of the two cycles could indicate an above average cycle, activity wise. Let me be clear, no one is saying the sun is about to unleash a geomagnetic war on the earth. Simply put, the short overlap of cycles indicates that the quieter cycle predicted by observers a year or so ago simply may not be the case.
