New member here from Alberta. Hoping to meet like minded people in the Edmonton area. So far CPN looks like an amazing resource. Thank you to all contributors...

I have been interested in “be prepared” since Scouts Canada days in the 70’s.  Current prepping focused on the 72 hour go bag, which grew to maybe 10 days now. 
  I am a technology guy, with career spent in related business consulting related to that.  I am not a HAM but played some with Baofeng UV-5R and other radios.

  After enjoying many SHTF TV movies, and books, my conclusion about surviving a longer SHTF events, is that solo is not the best way.  It’s impossible for one person to have all the right skills and resources, and much more practical to have a network of people who can come together with the right skills and resources.  E.g. food, land, security, medical, radios, technology, etc..

My hope in joining this group is to expand my skills and knowledge, but also to make appropriate network connections people that might mutually help each other in SHTF situations.

The vision on their website at <a href=" removed link ">The Diefenbaker is quite impressive, but clearly based on a template.  The phone number is fake from a generic template, the social media links don't work, and the terms and conditions are still in template form.

Has anyone contacted them, or know anything about it?  There was a bit of reddit chatter a few months ago about it.
