A curiosity question to anyone, Do you guys watch youtube product reviews? I thought maybe of doing something of that nature on my site and reviewing/demo of products i sell. Yes I do. Not so much for straight forward stuff, but for "out-of-the-ordinary" items, like exotic stoves or things that may seem too good to be true.

Thank you! much appreciated. I am trying very hard to get this going. It is a bit of a task lol. I'm fixing little things here and there and doing my best. As usual always adding more to the site and looking into other items. I know right now it's a bit similar to other major sites but i hope that i can offer more in the coming months.

As always, all suggestions are welcome!

A curiosity question to anyone, Do you guys watch youtube product reviews?
Also, look for items to sell that people have trouble finding in Canada.

I see no place to buy the Herc ( or is it Herz ) oven in Canada. I don't want
the big size though.
Pail size washboards from Columbus Washboard Co. are hard to find in Canada.
Also they carry a travel size washboard.

Also look at what people like us actually buy , read our posts on
what we've added to our preps this week.

The FireSteel is great item, but all the sites sell them. So you will have to have the same pricing and no higher.
People will add them to an order just to get a minimum order up to the free shipping level.
I already have x 2 , one in orange so I can find it, and one in army brownish . I went for both in the Army
edition and not the scout. But I will add more to an order if I need to get free shipping. I am thrifty

I have two Mora knives , so I won't need any more, anytime soon.
And I choose my Mora knives very carefully, and wanted army / dull colours, I don't want an ORANGE
plastic thing hanging on my belt. I want to be somewhat hidden. I also only want carbon steel.
You might need to find brands not many places carry. Everyone seems to have Mora . Even Amazon.

I have not seen that sharpmaker , that might be a good item ?

Everybody needs some useful solar gadgets , but they only want decent ones.

I suggest getting online and doing alot of research and find some items to sell, then keep us
posted of new products. I hope to see some unique hard to find items on your site.

Also look for items that if a SHTF happens, and you are stuck with alot of this stuff, it is
stuff you can BARTER with and get something really good in return for yourself

May I also suggest you clearly indicate your shopping costs? Just like Crown, I echo that there are plenty of online options and for the city folks, you're competing with places like MEC, BassPro and Cabelas. When I look for a new widget, it's not unusual for me to look at a few websites and compare price+shipping at all of them and go to the cheapest. If the difference is minute, I may choose a different store based on its location or contribution to this forum or other reasons. Easy site navigation also helps.

Finally, one last critique that may seem a bit harsh, but to be fair, I've mentioned it to your competitors that also posted on this forum. First impression IS important! Heading to a site that still says under construction / development is a major turnoff, along with facing a website with only a dozen items to choose from (or one item in a dozen colors...). You already have a decent selection to choose from so you have a bit of leg up on them. That said, think again that you are competing with the rest of the online world.

Best of luck!

For a newer business you have a lot of products and selection so good on you.

Just an FYI...many if not most preppers are thrifty. They look for the best bang for there buck. So if your not the least expensive guy on the block, you will have a tough time selling product to that niche market. As a buyer, the beauty of the internet is I can shop around for product and find the least expensive company out there. No different than shopping on line for a hotel, or airline ticket. If thats you, then you get a new client. If not, then you just never hear from someone.

My two cents for what its worth: Make your home page easier to link to products or have featured products or specials there. When I link to your page it is pretty plain jane with no colour, product, etc. right when I arrive. I have to search through your task bar to goto shop. And the articles section is empty so why not delete it until you have something to put in there.

As for that, good start up and I wish you the best of luck. If I'm in the market for one of your products I'll be in touch! :)

I checked out your store and I see all the things I assume city campers would likely want....just not me!

I can't believe people would buy tinder to start a fire with..... and maybe use that new flint to practice their survival skills.

I'm sorry but if anyone ever pulled that stuff out and started using it in my neck of the woods, all the locals (and maybe some forest creatures too) would be blowing stuff out their nose from laughing too hard. When you can buy a 5 pack of BIC lighters for $2.00, why bother. I got lighters everywhere (just in case) and I don't even smoke anymore. And I'd light the lint in my belly button first before I'd pay for such anywhere...
If you can't find tinder around you , what they heck are you gonna burn as you stand a better chance of finding tinder before finding wood, no matter where you are. :?

Now I've heard folks brag about the Mora Knives here and I can't comment on them as I haven't sharpened one yet to know. But when you show a knife, you should at least list the material the blade is made from. Stainless or carbon means nothing as there is good and bad in both. It's the temper rating that make them worthy as it denotes the hardness and thus the quality of the steel. Here is some of the standards https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_blade_materials . Now if you look down to the 400 series, this is what most good knives are made from in carbon steels and they sharpen nicely. The 600 are harder and don't rust easily but far harder to put an edge on too. Stainless in becoming the norm these days as it doesn't rust but it won't hold and edge as long as high carbon does and therefore skinning and cutting requires much more sharpening.

Now it's not that what you offer is far different from many others but why not sell that which is truly useful instead. Research items that folks find useful by maybe reading their rating comments after buying. Then find all this good where you can turn a profit. Now you have stuff that customers like and will return because they got that last useful item at your site. 8-)
