Just about every TEOTWAWKI novel out there ends up with an "happy" moment where a child is born. This makes me think that this is good that at some point life resumes a normal course, but becoming closer to middle-age (what age is middle-age those days anyway?), I'd rather leave that to other and or my kids where they are old enough. My wife had an IUD since the last one is born, but the usable life of the IUD is about a year away. I was always concerned of a really bad long term SHTF would happen while she has the IUD in as after a while, it could really harm her.

So I made the big boy thing and went for a vasectomy. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be after hearing seemingly bad stories from everyone (do men do this on purpose, trying to scare others out of getting one???) and I even enjoyed 3 days of DVR catching up!!! :D

Friendly to your face, email, phone...

Enemy behind you for their own reasons, will create fictional account/blatant lies about any and all conversations, talks etc..

Reasons????
unstable, mental issues, blatant liars, bi polar, stress, lack of social restraints, family issues, illness, hidden agendas etc, the list goes on and on !

Some are female, they become Frenemy when you say to them;
not interested
or I will never live with you or sleep with you

Someone, who will not be named, hates another MALE (JAB)on the board due to his not taking her calls or responding to HER emails.
Someone, who will not be named has a huge hatred now towards me because I said; never sleep with you, never live with you, just buds, nothing more!
so.. now they lie, have issues with everything and try to turn others, anyone against Myself and JAB !
They have even gone so far as to turn a very 150% positive phone call to cheer them up and empower them remember 150%
into -- " rude, obnoxious, condescending and overbearing phone call to bend my will to others who are being called better than me! "

At a recent somewhat local prepper meeting, it was overheard and retold to me by 3 people that this female individual was slandering me, again to the new people. Most of the comments were as such, "has not bad to good ideas but no ability or experience"

like this .. um female likes to say.. "EXCUSE ME ! "

SO.. BEWARE !!!

I suspect I may not be the only one experiencing this issue. I've been more or less a "closet" prepper for many years. I have an amazing wife but she has never been the outdoorsy kind of girl. Other than first aid training, I could probably say that she has very little survival knowledge or skills.

We've discussed prep a few times and have a "72hr kit", but that's about the extent of it from her point of view. Unfortunately, the show Doomsday Preppers just turned her right off. So, every prep I do is somewhat done in isolation and without her knowledge, stuff essentially hidden everywhere. ( Although im sure she noticed the little black bag in her car, in my truck, the shelves in the garage with an ever expending stash of food, the camping gear, flats of water...). I've had to use the excuse a few times that "oh, i forgot we already had X when i saw it was on sale had the store... oh well, we have 2 now." ;)

What saddens me though is that despite having all sorts of good stuff, it's essentially useless for her and my young family if I'm not around.

I was wondering if anyone else have been or are in a similar situation as well as strategies. I've read other places to compare prepping to getting a "quality of life insurance". Although I like the analogy, I don't think my wife would buy this.
