Anyone watching the tv series Handmaid's Tale? I'm finding it very good in a depressing sort of way. I read Margaret Atwood's book many many years ago and as far as I remember the tv series is keeping fairly close to the book. I find it very interesting that in so many ways it's emphasizing that the new society was one many chose to have and now they are a prisoner of their own making. It showed how women's basic rights were so easily taken away and how minimal the resistance was. We often think of preparing for a breakdown in society as not having food etc but what if it wasn't that at all and instead society became what Margaret Atwood envisioned.

Foxglove
