So who plans on going to one or maybe both of the of the Ont shows? The other one is in Muskoka and may be more accessible for people up that way. http://www.annualpreppersmeet.com/about-provinvial-preppers-event.php They are about a month apart. Decision should be easier once we start seeing exhibitor/vendor lists.

I am definitely doing the Survival Expo...as a matter of fact I will have a CPN booth there.
I would also go to the other meet, but unfortunately I am already expected somewhere else that weekend!
Bugger...would have done both but I can only be in one place at a time!

I was only going to go to the Survival Expo. Too much for me to do before that show

I'd love to go to the one in Niagara Falls... not sure if my finances would allow such an excursion yet, but man would this be cool...

I'm going to have a booth there as well, if I didn't I probably wouldn't have the time to attend recreationally!
I gave up on "shows" but when the organizers contacted me I was IN boots first, now what Wares should I take!?

Clothing and gear for the tactically minded, warm weather clothing and items for the seasonally prepared, knives and some surprise items. Not too much then :)...

Great News! We will be attending the Survival Expo. For all of our Canadian friends who have been asking, we have made arrangements to be there for what sounds like a great show. Charley Hogwood will be speaking on his book The Survival Group Handbook: How to plan, organize and lead a survival family/group. The only book ever written on this topic. He may also present a dynamic lesson on property defensive measures and community intel gathering for family/group survival.

Now a question for you: What other kind of presentation or class would you be interested in seeing? We have over 40 different classes from water purification to property defensive measures to food storage planning and more.
Let us know and maybe we will present on it at the show. Send us an email at info@readygoprep.com or leave a message here.

If you are new to prepping here are the top 8 areas you should include in your plans:

  • Food
    Water
    Shelter
    Health/Safety
    Security
    Communication
    Energy
    Transportation
  • It's always a good idea to scale all of your preps equally before moving to the next level. For example, if your plan is to survive for 3 days, make sure you have 3 days of everything before you advance to 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and so on. Also only buy what you'll eat and rotate your stocks of food regularly. If you don't like pickled herring in a jar now you probably won't be very happy to eat it when it is the last item in your cupboard later. The will to survive is fueled by morale and purpose and nothing tanks morale like yucky food just because it was on a clearance sale.

    See you all soon!

Sorry to hear that bramptonmike. I guess we lost a visitor here. We have quite a few requirements to choosing a location such as financial as well as population draw. Mississauga was not an option financially. Week day versus weekend is again not an option. I respect your comment and your decision not to visit and hope that you understand that to us Mississauga made no sense.

Niagara Falls in the Summer even on a weekend is quite accessible and the location of the Scotiabank Convention Centre is an easy location to get to from the US as well as from the GTA area. Further there is a direct GO Train from Toronto to Niagara Falls. We are drawing from 8.4 million people in that location from the Canadian side alone. Add the US side to it and you can see why we choose this as a convenient location.

Too bad you are missing out on the biggest and only Expo of this kind in Canada. Lots of learning to be had and lots of great Vendors to explore. Maybe another time eh Mike :).
