🙂 Fish antibiotics ARE there. Tetracyline amoxicillin. The person might not have haerd of FishMox though.

I'll take a look in there tomorrow. Maybe they've moved them or something but I doubt it.

Actually most well equipped pet places that have fish will have fish antibiotics I've noticed.

Is this a tablet or liquid antibotic that you just drop in the fish tank? How expensive is it?

Mountaineer, the ones I have seen have been indistinguishable from the human variety. I strongly suspect there is no difference. The pennicillin for fish I have seen is absolutely identical in appearance to the pennicillin available for humans. I wouldn't be surprised if the pharmacuetical companies simply use the same product but crank up the price.

We also went to Riverfront Aquarium and they only have fish anti-biotic in powder form, not capsules...Buddy asked me what was wrong with my fish and I told him that he has a sore throat and sneezes a lot...hahaha!

Bovine antibiotics are readily available at most farm supplies.

Yeeks, I didn't realize that the fish antibiotics was a form of pennicillin which we're all allergic to. 🙁 I guess I'll have to figure something else out. Thank goodness there is this website with folks who know a lot more than me! Anybody know of another option?

It would seem a lot of people, including this doctor, seem to think fish antibiotics are fine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhKNZInFvpQ
I bought a good selection online at www.countrysidepet.com
