I think jeff78 is correct. I can't comment on the purchase portion of his comment, except to say if you can screen the right people, find land at the right price, in the right location this is the way to go. But would it not take three times this amount to go the purchase route if one adds in building a couple of shelters, fencing, tools and equipment, irrigation. but Jeff is right. The situation is urgent. many of us on these posts are talking of a major event of some sort within two years, but it takes 5-10 years to get fruit trees into production, 3-5 years to establish raspberry and strawberry production in the central interior, and up to 5 years to establish good garden soil.

And there is another urgent need that should get the prepper networks connected. Our area sustains a stable population through hunting, fishing, gathering, ranching and home gardens. A large population unprepared through a network will not be able to swarm into a territory and deplete resources no matter how desperate their circumstances. Those who have a working network relationship with someone in the "safe" territory will have a fighting chance providing they make it this far. If they have arrived before calamity strikes they will have prepared wisely indeed.

This is a good idea, so why not also buy ammo, medical, survival gears as group also?. Much easier for 4-10 people to buy large lots and save cash for everyone. 😳 💡

I was looking at an old fishing lodge a few years back just North of Pemberton.
Nice big lodge with huge kitchen and three large rooms a common area, dinner hall and rec room.
Came with a dozen or so three room cabins, had lots of out buildings and a dock and lots of cleared land .
Was cheep to $150,000.00. A group of organics bought it and now they grow ther own food and pot.
Oh well next time 🙂

I Agee with all this for sure and I'm sorry I'm so late on the subject. Here's my .02. With a possible SHTF scenario I wonder why land must be bought? It is my understanding that anyone is allowed to reside in a provincial park as long as there is no building of structures and that sort of thing. After all we could be camping for an indefinite time period so my thoughts are this,... Why purchase other than to secure a dwelling of some sort. When SHTF I will not worry about a ranger coming and telling me I cannot reside in my temporary shelter on park land I mean lets face it he will have alot more going on in his own life and death scenarios that he won't be working and causing us any grief. With that being said and using public land meetings and preps could actually be taking place on common ground with others. Nobody is out of pocket and the prepping continues back home with maps, plans, communication and learning and even venturing out into the field.

One thing that is continually on my mind is the lower mainland vs interior planning. I myself are making both but my main thoughts are involving rainforest vs snow for the winter? Snow better for trapping but poses difficulties in gathering and fire. Rainforest offers plentiful water and warmer temps to fight. Having two plans for bugging out may come in handy depending on travel conditions, army, mechanical condition etc.

So far I'm liking the provincial parks and crown land with th appropriate resources as a common ground to meet at the time. All those invited in the plan need to do is keep it quiet and arrive alive. The group plan then kicks into action.

Your thought?

Screedcrete: That sounds like a pretty reasonable plan, and one I've often contemplated. Look forward to meeting with you in a couple weeks for coffee. 🙂

Looking forward to meeting you folks as well. It will be nice to have a few on the same page for at least info gathering/brainstorming that sort of thing. I have a few friends that litterally run when they start to listen to me. The only thing you want to do is help them and they think your nuts!

Really happy to hear there are a few coming out to check in. I'm really looking forward to it. CHEERS everyone and hope you all had a great holiday and wish you all the best in the new year.
