A quick hello to introduce myself.
I've only recently seen the light in the need to be more self sufficient. With rising prices and the quality of what a dollar can buy decreasing I can see a need to stop relying on supermarkets and traditional ways of supplying myself with the necessities. I've always been interested in "living off the land" but the everyday responsibilities of providing for my family has steered me away from being able to put any sort of plan into action.....until now, my only fear is that it may be to late.
I don't want to portray a dark image of myself but I'm starting to see society as a glutinous mass of consumerism with no insight as to where it might be heading, my main worry is what my children will have to face in such uncertain times.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can, thanks in advance.

Hey Rob.
Certainly is not too late. Teach yourself and kids to stay out of debt.
A lot of what we spend is on food. Teach them kids where it comes from and grow some of your own. Takes a few years to get the hang of it but as the saying goes "feed them for life".
Ont.Rob Your family, the kids have it made because dad has his eyes open, the first step. And just a heads up, the more you find out about whats going on in the world the more depression could set in, try and brush it off because stress can make you physically sick. I like to think all you good people are what this world is really about, not the few evils who control.
Well said Beth thanks for the reminder
