Howdy all
I just want to make sure I am ready well before Dec 2012
Its not so much that I believe the sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!!!!!!! arghhhhh!!!!!!!
I just want to be able to settle in and wait out the crazies ( Them crazie that wait till the last minute , you know the NOT preppers )
I think all it will take is one little power out or bad storm hint of trouble and you wont be able to buy a battery, generater, gas, food etc
You know all the stuff we prep for
Best wishes to all and enjoy the show
Hobo

yeah, I remember a few years ago a blackout that lasted all of 48 hrs. When the juice was flowing again I went to the grocery store to pick up some fresh produce and meat for the bbq and people were panic buying by the cart full. After only two days without power!!

Personally I don't think anything significant is going to happen, but we'll see.

For those who haven’t noticed, 2012 is here. My biggest fear is CME, of which a big one can hit us between now and march 2013. Come 12 December 2012 or 12/12/12, it will be the mindless panicking Zombies, which will probably start at the beginning of December. How many murders, will occur this time who knows, but my gun safe will be on it’s last digit during that time. 😈 ➡ ➡ 😯 ➡ 😀 😛

Thats probably because everything they had in refrigeration and freezing thawed.

True but there were folks buying big quantities of water, canned and packaged goods too. There was no bottled water left on the shelves and the canned soups were slim pickings. At the time that really got me thinking about having at least a couple weeks worth of supplies in the house at all times.

Over the last few years though Ive often thought back to that day and now realize if a real disaster/SHTF situation were to happen, there would most likely be panic and even if civil order could be maintained, people would still buy up and hoard everything they could get their hands on...and I don't blame them one bit.

Hobo is right though. The sky will probably stay right where it is but if anything does actually happen in Dec. or whenever, I'd rather be ready ahead of time. 😉

I can see as Dec 21 draws closer that there will be a rush to buy. Personally my last purchases will be in early to mid November and avoid the swarm. That along with the Christmas season will be stupid busy.

Remember the hype of the millennium? This WILL be worse, fueled by box office and the media.

If it happens, then it happens. If not, then we prep for the next big event. Most fear that it will happen and many fear that it wont. We openly state that we prepare for something that could be the end of the world, the Rapture, Armageddon. A large few, hope that it will happen to cleans the earth, but not to them, others, just don’t give a damn if they do or don’t. Never in our life time have we been so bombarded with the end of the world hype. By the media, news, movies, documentaries, the church and the government.
People love the fear of uncertainty. They pray to God that it wont happen, and are very disappointed if it doesn’t. What ever happens, we will see, be it in a flash to non existence, a pill induced death or a lifetime of surviving what ever happens or not.

Well I am fairly old and it hasn't happened yet. Come to think of it does not seem to have happened in the last 3,000 years ( history get a bit fuzzy further back than that). So my guess is we are safe. From that at least!
