This is one of a few news sources I enjoy. Very informative, very thought provoking stuff.

We don't watch news, which in my humble oppinion is tantamount to idle gossip. When we were overseas, we had BBC, CNN, Al Jezzerra and Fox. We watched them all and if they had any points that seemed to converge we assumed we were getting close to some small truths. Weren't many of those. We ignored all the flashing lights; red, yellow, green alerts as well and carried on buisiness as usual. The sky did not fall.

Here and now, the TV is collecting dust in the corner devoid of any hookups other then the DVD machine which hardly sees use as well. The internet is even more of a mine field of garbage to sift through and I cannot be bothered. We need only concern ourselves of whats coming down the road in our immediate surroundings, because if nuclear armegeddon or a pandemic hits, its going to be luck of the draw and I just don't want to live in fear until then. Economic and environmental meltdowns are something I have already done something about, and the rest just doesn't matter to me.

I try not to watch news on TV and aside from the sports section I have very little interest in what the newspapers are printing. I get my information both local and from around the world thru various sources on the Internet and even that I take with a grain (or whole shaker of) salt.
I believe strongly that what passes for news is heavily censored and what we get is the biased reports that “they” choose for us to see.
By THEY, I mean everyone from the newspapers owners, who want their paper to show everything with a liberal or conservative slant, to the police (local, provincial, federal) military (both sides), governments (no matter whose or at what level) and even the reporters, as most no matter how hard they try all have personal feelings.
If I come across an issue that I want information on I try to do all the research I can and after getting as much information as possible I come to my own conclusion.
There was a time, actually not that long ago, when I naively believed the talking heads on TV and what I read in my local paper but sadly or not so sadly, depending on how you look at it, those days are gone...as is my innocence.

I use different sources and try to colate the information. I also try to access sources close to the story. So CNN, CBC, Pravda, BBC, Al Jazeera, as well as outlets in countries affected... Greece, German etc. Put it all in a bag, shake it up and pour it out and see what you get.

Now that is a good approach. Somewhere in the mélange there may be an inkling of fact.

Ya I rarely use MSM for any source of news these days that's why I posted a few links to more non mainstream media. But I too take everything with a grain of salt. I just enjoy being informed not trying to fear anyone or anything like that. Just interested in the times we live in. 🙂

I guess I'm more of the can't be bothered watching what passes for news. I will usually scan rense, infowars and drudge to see what is going on.

I get a kick out of Russia Today. The whole world is in the toilet on that website...lol

Then I usually switch to The Onion to cheer myself up
