Here's neat trick I read today. I think I might actually try and make some of these for me and my family.

Here's the link for the instructions:

These heaters work great. You can also use fondue fuel instead of alcohol. I have used these heaters camping and hunting and love em. The dollars stores are a good source for cheap fuel too.

Fondue Fuel is only 80% Methyl and the dollar store alcohol is only 75-80%

Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware all sell 1 gal containers with 99.9% Methyl Hydrate, which is perfect and for only $14 for the Gallon. This is much cheaper option with a higher more intense burning flame for much quicker and hotter heating.

The heater above works, I gave some away at Christmas for Gifts. One site I saw said get two extra lids, one you put a circle hole in the middle so it burns better for cooking, another one, multi holes all over so it simmers and uses less fuel as well as heats up quite well. Put out the flame by placing the original un altered lid. Don't forget the opener so it can be replaced on the can and used to open it up multiple times.

good post and addition to the forum UnderPrepper.. look forward to more of your posts and thoughts, like all of them so far.

Yes very cool little item, something similar can be made by using an old tobacco tin a roll of tp and methyl.simply jam the the tp into the tin, fill the tin with methyl and close off the lid, let it soak up as much as possible then empty the excess fuel. Ensure that you poke several holes in the top, light it up and you've got a stove. that being said I think I'll checkout the above product as well. thanks

When in doubt think it out...(you thought I was gonna say something else?)
