Evenin' All,

I am looking at getting this portable folding stove for my BOV. Has anyone ever made or used a stove like this before??

What do you think of this stove??

Sorry the picture would not post. 🙁

Cheers,

Mountainman.

(( right click open image in new tab, copy pic link, use Img tab in expanded response view. ))

I have seen several like this, so far this is the lowest price with a good collection of features. So why not!
Personally my thoughts run like this;
low cost, flat, hiking yes
alternative,
make one yourself, make a Hobo stove from guides, put cooking stuff inside Hobo Stove, takes up the same room.

Just a different way of thinking, flat for this, but your cooking stuff is round. I put my cooking stuff inside the round Hobo Stove, which doubles as a charcoal cooker the same as this does. Even though my Homemade Hobo Stove is round, in the end it will take up the same space. Inside my Hobo Stove, I also toss in an alcohol burner and stand as they way only 1.3 oz together.

This one is much like the Emberlit but it folds up flat instead of having to assemble from separate bits, VARGO hexagon wood stove.
Stainless or titanium.

2 lbs is really heavy, OK if you're not carrying it around.
The titanium VARGO is 4 oz.

i have and use the vargo titanium hex on a regular basis. Fantastic little stove. Expensive, but it will last a lifetime, takes up no space at all, and weigh next to nothing.

I picked up a couple of little titanium tent pegs to use as in conjunction with it. I lay them horizontal accross the small notches in the top of the stove, and they make a small platform that you can rest a stainless steel waterbottle on. Boils water in about 5 minutes 😀

See you all after.
