When the WHO declared the global pandemic, I knew right away that things were going to get ugly. As of March 13th 2020, I have decided that my family needs to go into a bug in situation. This was always the plan, the proverbial trigger has been pulled! Here is a daily update on what we face.
Day 28 –
Still nasty weather, but at least the forecast is better. Here’s hoping that spring remains on schedule. Thankfully we have plenty of firewood to help out with these cooler days.
It’s pretty much routine as usual here, with the exception of everyone being home instead of at the office or school. The adults continue to work and the kids do what they can for schoolwork online, with plenty of play time in between.
Bugging in can be pretty uneventful in this situation, but I keep reminding myself that it would likely be much worse if the grid had gone down. I also have to continually remind myself to keep up on other preps as the usual disasters aren’t confined because of the virus.
Most, if not all of the seeds I started have gone leggy and will need to be replanted. There is also some adjustments to be done with lighting and air flow too…projects continue to come up, but so far are easy to scratch off the list.
More news tomorrow…
