I'm still really interested in going and am flexible in dates. How many do we have that are going now then? It seems if we push to February we lose two so who would we gain if we pushed it to then? I'm a hunter too but have never had the opportunity to field dress so even that would be a good experience for me. Even just to get together and talk about different scenarios and options and things is always good.
I decided not to go to Ecuador so I'm pretty much good to go.
This sounds like an excellent 'dry run' but I would look into hunting regulations... rabbits and some small game are legal to hunt year round and without a licence but most birds, and all big game is illegal to hunt in February with or without a licence... I just don't want anyone getting into any trouble 🙂
Yes sadly it is not hunting season so small game is the plan. The anatomy is not so much different so there will be something to learn from. More in depth details when we can meet in two weeks.
Unless you've got your native card. 🙂 Can we settle on a date so that we can plan? I'm no longer good for the last weekend in January. The first weekend in February is looking good, not sure about the second weekend.
Well my friend from work is a native and he will be taking us to the spot. He might get us a deer if there happens to be one in the area so we can practice field dressing it. Feb 8-9 is what I am looking at. If you guys want to go on the Friday night to get out there and setup camp sooner we can do that too.
hey sorry to do this to you guys but my family convinced me to go to Ecuador with them so I will not be able to make it. Sorry about that guys. I feel really bad.
You should feel bad, we're going to be in winter sleeping bags and you'll be soaking up the sun. Bring us back a souvenier
haha ya I'm having fun but I bet you guys are learning a lot more. In a way I envy you guys. Well have fun and learn lots. Good luck to you.
