Hello all,

I am fairly new to prepping but have a bit of experience is some areas such as overland navigation, defence, firearms, improvised shelters and basic field craft stuff.

I am interested in learning how to hunt and dress game animals, canning and preserving.

I live in the South Island area and would like to meet up with others to share preparedness ideas and knowledge.

Take care.

I'm fairly new myself in Langford. I'm trying to turn my tiny property into a small urban homestead. We have lots to learn but we're trying.
I never had the chance to learn how to hunt or fish when I was younger so I am trying to get into it now.

Hey there Langford, Wookie, and Zzulu. I was starting to think that there was no one from the island here. Are there ever any meet ups or coffee meetings around? It would be nice to talk with others in person once in a while.

Hi and welcome too.

There's a small group of us "Northerners" that hang out and - dare I say it - have become almost friends..... 😉

We welcome any islanders to our impromptu festivities. We'd even let a few of those mainlanders types in if they asked nicely.

I'm sure that there are a lot of folks who could tell you how to hunt or dress out whatever game you got, but the best teacher is experience.not everyone uses the same methods, or does things the same, you need to find the method that works best for you, for example, I personally am able to field dress a large ( deer, bear) in under 10 minutes, in a way that allows me to utilize the most of the kill. It took time and practise to acquire this ability. If you're ever on the north end of the island, look me up, be happy to sit down and discuss some techniques , always coffee or tea on
