Heya Screedcrete,

You make some good points. I'm interested in the 'going dark' stuff.

Shakedowns are a great way to find out if that stuff in your bugout bag is going to be used, or not. It's also a great time to bond and brainstorm. I haven't found anyone who attends these meetups to be less than serious about meeting people who will truly help them when the time comes. Sounds like you have already met up with people you could count on, I know I have. Some talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. I'll be there for coffee.

Screedcrete, I agree with u and have even said before bugout practice should not be weather dependent. will the SHTF on a beautiful, perfect day? I doubt it! I believe whole heartedly, that when it rains, it @%*€£*! Pours! Rain or shine, pick a date and stick to it. Winter is the best time for bugout practice for this reason. ive been out 3 times this summer and have more plans in the works for fall and winter. Will most likely attend this meeting. see u there.

It's a shame I couldn't find a sitter. Would you be able to give an insight to the topics discussed?

Thanks Screedcrete

Just more curious about some of the topics broached. As I'm sure there's many senerios that could happen depending on how the world crumbles around us. We try and prepare for all of them. I can honestly say it may be a slow demise rather than quick. But once those that haven't prepped start to take notice things will then happen quickly as panic sets in. Hopefully by then alot of people that have prepared for this turn of events will be ready to implement their plans Bugging in or out and do it with out much notice.
With the ever increasing prices in food, fuel, housing. It's definitely time to learn how to be self sufficient now while we still have access to modern conveniences.

Morning. I don't visit this site terribly often, but am definitely interested in the next meet. Tuesdays are always a no-go for me. Any thoughts on a September meeting date/time/place?
