How about blacksmithing...
Bring me this or that piece of your broken down car and I will turn it into a knife/axe/garden tool/horseshoe for you.

Springs and parts of the frame to make a nice knife or axe or what ever, with the softer irons, hinges and plow bodies, (leading edge and tip=spring steel blend). All in all I think I would try my hand again at foundry work, making wood stoves, and stove top irons, like my Grande-Memi use to use. By the way, you can make an axe head out of mild steel, just have to case harden it in carbon. This is the same method of making blister steel, ( high carbon) you need to leave it in the fire longer. Really miss a good coal supply though.
P.S. if there be a good running stream near by, I'll design you a good trip hammer.
