It may only be a game but it does help sharpen your focus. If you had an extra $1000.00 what would you spend it on? If possible link to sites where the item is available.

I'll add my answer later.

$1000 does not go very far for purchasing solar systems. It does buy a heck of a lot of food or ammunition though. Denob if you are going to pay that price for a 12 volt inverter make sure that is a pure sine wave type not a modified sine wave.

Very Nice but have you the horse power to drive it? Myself I'd be looking for an old tractor or truck, pre 70's, something that I could hook a gasifier to.

Good point Farmgal, I hadn't noticed the modified wave.
Anyways, this was hypothetical, as last time I checked, I only had about 30 bucks to spare along with some pocket lint!
With $1,000, I would more likely diversify my purchases more...
A couple more gas cans and gas, a couple more propane cans and propane, some #10 cans of food, maybe a good dehydrator or some more canning jars and tattler lids.
Maybe even bribe that city guy who said I'm not SUPPOSED to keep chickens(kidding, I would NEVER do anything illegal  )

Yes, I have both a draft cow and a half draft/half TB horse to go with it, I have been able to get a number of different draft powered peices over the past year or two and have more planned, including a homemade V-Snow Plow.

Good answers everyone!

I'd like a sun oven: http://www.bridensolutions.ca/global-sun-oven-package someday.

I'd probably spend every penny on making a summer kitchen off the side of the dining room where I could have running water and electricity but be outside and keep the heat out of the house.

RabbitTeeth - thanks for the links to the first aid kit - going back to look at some others. I like the Alice Pack too - not so huge that it would knock you off balance!

ICRCC - you mentioned some Cree flashlights the other day in another post and I've been looking for a good Canadian site. There also seems to be a huge price range. Can you narrow down a good all round model??

Anita the best price I have found for the small flashlights with Cree LED's is Costco. They had the Snap-on brand a pack of three, batteries included for only $17.99!

$1000 is not quite enough for the plasma cutter I want but I did just spend half that on a good used Excalibur crossbow at $400. Still need another maybe $200 for stuff to go with it.

A pressure canner would be nice.........
