These items come to just under $600 - i tried to factor in shipping also.
the remaining $400 would be spent on food, water, some hygiene, and medications/multivitamins. they are things i am already contemplating or are supplements to what i have already.

Hmm, fun question. I think I would go with some MRE's just because I don't have any. I would also buy the parts to make a rocket stove. I'd love to buy an expensive water filtration deal, and a crossbow with a ton of arrows. If I had anything left over, I'd buy paracord to make belts and bracelets.
If your home library contains more volumes about survival-related topics than your local public library, you might be a prepper.
A couple more solar panels http://www.dcpowercorp.com/pdf/spring2011/sol_dow_NDU230Q2.pdf and a few more bolts for my crossbow. http://www.bow-shop.com/secure/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=90_75&products_id=216 but that's just me...

There = She is there now.
Their = They have their things.
They're = They're going to the mall.
To = They came to the house.
Too = That's too bad.
Buy alot more lottery tickets, a fools gambit but...have you ever heard of a rich wiseman?

I'd probably put it towards a decent generator and a propane conversion for it
put it towards paying off my truck 😀
Oh the main things on my list would be a sun oven or a rocket stove and a hand grinder.
Or My first gun. My hubby has his that i can use but I want one i can call my own. Also more food storage and tattler canning lids.
Somewhere in there. It would be a big hymn and haw between everything with just $1000 but that would be on my list for sure.

I'd be taking a survival course at Tom Brown's Tracker school. http://www.trackerschool.com/
Thats an easy question.
I would put it towards the cost of a deep well hand pump and some spare parts for it, that I have already save some $'s for.
We can live without a lot of things, but not without water. 🙂
A sense of humor is absolutely essential to survival.
