I came across the idea recently from a picture on 9Gag of all places. I googled it to find some more info. There's lots of places around giving away old pallets for free or cheap. You could make anything from a chicken coop to a full-blown house. A few sheets of plywood, or maybe even stuff the pallets with dirt (I've seen some neat planters made this way, maybe grow your food off the side of the house? 😉 )

Very cool. We have been looking up ways of using pallets for furniture but this is the first house idea.

I have seen some videos where the pallets are being used to make fences, sheds and at the home show they used some pallets inside a house and a garage as working decoration, very cool

I wonder where I can get pallets that are worth a damn. The ones we used had all but a few boards left on them or most were cracked from use before we threw them out.

Hey Gravs,
don't you live near Lethbridge? There are so many businesses there, trucking companies, food storage as well as two pallet recyclers (though they do not normally sell to the public) How about Canadian Tire, at the ones near me they even have the long 8ft ones, they just stand up against a wall for 6-8 months before they disapear!

I live near Saskatoon. I delivered to Westco, Federated co-op, Costco etc and they ALL like to keep pallets. Any returns were reused by us for dragging out the ugly freight that the shipper had no idea how to send. Tie up the pallet from the back and drag the ugly out. < Mostly large wonkey mining equipment for Saskpotash and Mosaic.
