Smiling softly to myself. The form of "democracy" we experience here is a facade. We simply have the opportunity to decide which DICTATORSHIP we are going to have in power for the next term. If this was a true democracy that existed for the benefit of the people then mechanisms would be in place to remove and replace those who do not follow the will of the people. The biggest sham ever perpetrated and the masses continue to believe it. They deserve exactly what they get.

I am a firm believer in Voting even though ( in most cases ) it dosn't seem like it is helping. Here is one way to look at it... My Vote just might be the one that keeps a Total A-Hole out of office even though it might put a Semi A-Hole in. 😆
I find that it is easier to tolerate a Semi A-Hole.
At least if you Vote you have a chance at change.. .. but keep prepairing just in case.

There is no "change"... only the illusion of change. In the end they look out for each other and their cronies before they do us. They all have an agenda... and it is the SAME agenda... so don't fool yourself.

You are right..Sometimes there is no change BUT, the way I see it, if you Vote you have a right to complain and you can Kick, Screem, Curse At and Embarass them into doing something. if you don't Vote.. then you don't have that right. Rememer one thing... Politicians are afraid of bad press and you can use that to your advantage.. as long as you publish the FACTS. I know of one case ( a while ago now) where a person was trying to get some support for their "mentally challenged" sibling and was not getting anywhere with in our Fantastic Medical system . 🙁 When she went to her MP for help the first question out out of his mouth was' Did you Vote For me"? First off ( IMO) that should not be allowed... it does not matter who you vote for as long as you voted and the MP's job is to look out for ALL of his constituants.. not just the ones that voted for him. Needless to say, this person mentioned calling Elections Ontario to see why he was allowed to ask who she voted for and he changed his Sh__ty Attitude really quickly. It is no ones business who you vote for.. only that you voted. In the end she did get some help with her sibling.
One thing I would like to mention as well... anyone can run for Office..so If you want change don't just complain about it.. do something.. start by getting involved with Municipal Govm't... Go to the meetings and become the biggest Pain in the A_s ( Tactfully of Course) they have ever seen.. There is a good chance you could make a difference and , at the very least, you could have some fun Embarrasing the H_ll out of them 😆

That is the exact reason why we still have the system we do. I believe that if NOBODY voted THEN they would start to sh_t themselves. Rather we feel that there is a small problem with the system with low turnout. I once believed those words you wrote but now I realize it is just feeding the illusion that there is a choice by following those words. I am a political pessimist and so far I have had a right to feel this way as far as politics in my lifetime.

Anyone can run for office but good luck getting your voice heard by the rest of the country. I am not a greenie but they did not even get to debate and that is wrong. The "no chance of winning" and therefore should not debate is complete rubbish.

Agreed and that issue should be addressed with Elections Canada.

Forums like this are a good start. You can reach a lot of people very quickly on the Internet... look at how fast some videos on You Tube spread.

I call that "The Election Cancelled due to Lack of Intrest" senario... you would have to look that up BUT I bet there is a provision that would put the Exsisting Government back in power and everything would continue as normal( or abnormal as the case might be 😈 )

Sorry... I have been accused of being stubborn once or twice 😆 But, I still want "my say" when it comes to Elections. Even though there is no one worth voting for.

... but I do feel sorry for the Hard Working people who are " Beating a Dead Horse" just trying to survive.

The chart below is pretty self explanatory. The rich are getting richer at an ever alarming rate, and the poor are getting poorer. The poor must therefore borrow money to live at the same standard of living that was easily attainable without borrowing 40 years ago. The elite know this, and that's why they make lending at all levels so easy. They don't care if you can pay it back, they've got insurance for that. They just want you to keep borrowing and keep buying.
