Can anyone tell me where we can find a Jar Lid for Mason jar the one you put over the actual lid of the jar and it's take the air out with the hose connected to my food saver can't find anywhere here in Ottawa anyone know where to find them thanks
i've heard, wal mart, sears, crappy tire, home hardware carry them, but NONE of them in my area did. . .
i paid too much for them on ebay.

Only those in the Hamilton area would be able to take advantage of this. I stopped by a farm just out side of Beamsville today on highway 8 that was selling squash. The "sale" price at the moment at Fortino's is $1.47 a pound. I weighed a few of them when I was there and the average weight was 3 pounds. This would make the price of the single butternut squash about $4.40. The farm stall was selling them for $2.00 each, various kinds. Plus they also had two very over filled bushels for only $15.00 each. I bought a bushel of the butternut squash. There were 24 very large squash. Remind me not to go out with mom again. lol
I realize that if I had the space it would have been cheaper to grow them. But I figured that I saved over $100.00 today.
