Het Greenguy , I'm also a Londonite, maybe you I and Mason could get together some time and bounce around some ideas. I have a liking for gasifiers, someday I may even build one, but I have a solaroven that I built that you may like to see.

It's great to learn there are others with similar interests to my wife and I. Before finding this website, I got the feeling that we were the only people around here interested in these kinds of things. Hopefully we can all make it to the June 2nd event. Also, the Forest City folks may be able to get together as ranger2012 proposed. It's all a bit overwhelming for me just yet though. I think I'm still in shock that this group exists!

It took me awhile to find this group myself, until I started to up the word prepper did I find it. I keep on typing in survivalist/wilderness and did not find what I was looking for.

I built a small gasifier stove just for cooking , did pretty good but junked it as there were a few things too be changed, I plan on building another out of a tank, propane tank or such... would love to build a large one like the ones you see running generators, but thought i would start with the rocket stove idea first. I will start another when i am back on the off shifts at work again, since i do my goverment projects late at night lol

Looking for central ontario preppers to meet up with, any advice? Toronto, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Vaughn, etc.

One thing on rocketstoves, the stack should be twice as high as the diameter to get a good burn and less smoke.
