FINALLY!

Got my Sportspal canoe. 14 footer, modified; weighs just 38lbs but has a working capacity of 835lbs! Came with a custom trailer that can hitch to a car or convert into a hand cart. The trailer/cart is built to support the canoe's bottom from tip to tip, so you can load it up with tons of cargo while transporting, without warping or damaging the canoe. Also came with an 8'x8' hide of some sort... completely waterproof. Coolest tarp i've ever seen.

It's coming... and it's going to hurt!

Canned up 9 pints of pork and 14 pints of chicken breast... Food Basics had the chicken on for $1.97lb
New fileting knife (Canadian Tire, Rapala one on sale) and used it to make short work of the chicken... 1 hr 45 min to get through 28 lbs of chicken breast...have enough skin and fat saved to make schmalz (rendered chicken fat for cooking ) and froze enough bones to make a big batch of chicken stock to can up next week.

I picked up 4 last time they were on sale at ct for 9bucks. Nice Handel but won't hold an edge. Every couple perch and they need to be touched up.

That's odd...Mine held it's edge well through all that chicken and pork...didn't have to touch it up once. Cut through a fair bit of chicken rib bones through the whole process and it didn't feel that it needed touching up at all.
The one I got was the Rapala with the black plastic handle rather than the wood handle.

I don't know if it counts as adding but I sold 2 rifles and almost 10 thousand rounds of ammunition this week to get some cash
It was my stash, just in case, but I needed cash more than anything and I'm prepared to walk through the woods with an axe if the few extra bucks mean my family eats a little better for a few weeks.

To those that don't know me, my tools are like an extension of my hands, it pained me to have to part with my tools. Each and every one served a purpose.

Hope things get smoother for you Bandit. Times so tough they force you to sell off useful and treasured goods, are anything but fun.

I had a run of luck in the opposite direction this weekend... was gifted two (2) prospector/military camp style tents with insulated fabric (supposed to be comfortable down to -30) that are each 14' x 20'. They're heavy as hell, but quite awesome for a quick and easy shelter if i can store them well at my BOL. Already got the fabrics treated and vac-sealed, now i'm looking for a way to clean, oil and seal away the metal support structure to ensure it lasts as long as the fabric.

It's coming... and it's going to hurt!

Sounds like very neat EDC! Would it be inappropriate to ask for photos?

Working on my Bug Out Trailer, TSC had 20l military style jerry cans on sale for $15, bought the last 3. As I shoot a lot at the range I got a smokin deal on ammo, 1000rds of 9mm, 1000 rds of .308, 1000 rds of .223, and 1000rds of .40 S&W, all for about $1200. Got my generator installed in the trailer, shelves built for storage, now I just have to fill it!

9 quarts of homemade pickled cauliflower! Local grocer had a good deal on big cauliflowers...and everybody fights over the couple of pieces of it in store bought sweet mixed pickles so why not just pickle it on it's own 🙂
