Covid-19 : Our Bug In Day 35

Search Amazon for Preparedness Supplies:

When the WHO declared the global pandemic, I knew right away that things were going to get ugly. As of March 13th 2020, I have decided that my family needs to go into a bug in situation. This was always the plan, the proverbial trigger has been pulled! Here is a daily update on what we face.

Day 35 –

I would really like to know what the issue is with paper products in the grocery stores. Another supply run today and the paper product aisles are again empty. I also wonder why no one else seems to be talking about it anymore. Is it just a local or regional thing near me? Maybe there are other pending shortages that are garnering more attention. Maybe people just got used to it. Something to watch for anyhow.

Most of the day was occupied with online meetings, phone calls regarding sales, follow ups on orders and general day to day business work. It is after all, business as usual, only from home. This means that there really isn’t as much free time as a lot of people seem to be saying. Sure, commute times are non existent right now, but that doesn’t give us days worth of free time to be making Tic Toc videos. Not that we have any interest in that stuff anyways.

On the plus side, we found all the onion and garlic sets that we needed for the garden at the supermarket. We also picked up some heirloom peas that were on sale. When we asked a clerk why there were on sale so early, we were told that everything they had left was on the one display. They would not be getting in any replacements from McKenzie seeds. Liquidate it and get it out of the way seemed to be the plan.

I must admit that plans I’ve made and can’t get going yet are starting to take up too much space in my head. I woke up at 4AM this morning as my brain tried to process the to do list and balance it out with time constraints. Yup, this Covid stuff is causing me to lose sleep. Not because I’m worried about catching it, but because of the pressure of planning around it. Something to think about for prepping plans in the future.

More news tomorrow…
