When the WHO declared the global pandemic, I knew right away that things were going to get ugly. As of March 13th 2020, I have decided that my family needs to go into a bug in situation. This was always the plan, the proverbial trigger has been pulled! Here is a daily update on what we face.
Day 39 –
Here in Quebec we have a saying that goes “plus ca change, plus ca reste la meme” meaning the more things change, the more things stay the same. True on so many levels.
While we remain locked up to a certain extent, things still go on as usual for the most part. We continue to work at earning a living, albeit from home. The kids continue to learn, thanks to teachers sending links and printable exercises. The world has far from ended.
On a sadder note, a good friend of mine has been diagnosed with Covid-19. While he and his family are doing well, it really brings this whole thing home in a sobering way. At the same time it makes me all the more angry at the whole virus denying movement. In my opinion, these folks would be doing society a big favor by driving themselves right off the edge of the obviously flat earth!
To be quite honest, the weather is getting to me more than this whole viral situation. Mother nature’s sense of humor is as dry as a good martini! Really, I went to check the mail yesterday and experienced sunshine, rain, sleet, and blowing snow in the ten minute round trip.
We’ve had to rearrange some furniture to accommodate a folding table in front of our picture window for the seed trays, which were suffering badly. Hopefully we can get at least some plants to flourish and not have wasted all that time and effort. If not, we’ll be hitting the garden center, which has been our source for years past. Gardening is an acquired skill folks…practice it now before you have to rely on it!
More news tomorrow…
