S.O.P. or Standard Operating Procedures

Every prepper needs a plan. Writing down that plan is essential when mistakes just can’t be made. Every detail needs to be written down and understood by your family or group.

Who will monitor comms and information sources? Who is responsible for security and fortification? What gear or equipment needs to be put into service? These are just some of the questions that need to be answered.

A 3 hole punch, binder, and inkjet printer will be your friends here. All procedures should be written down, or in this case typed up, printed and placed into a binder that everyone knows where to find it.

Think about bugging in. Are there fortifications that need to be deployed? Do you need to gather family members? Make sure everyone has a job and define it in writing.

What about bugging out? What supplies need to be taken? Which vehicle will be used and who drives it?

Of course our lives are busy right now in “normal” times and setting up your SOPs will take some time, but it’s time well spent. Take some time now, over the next few weeks and figure it out. Remember, the only bad plan is no plan.
