Dehydrating green onions!

I would love to be able to say that all these green onions came out of the garden, but that isn’t the case this time. While we are growing some, they aren’t quite ready yet, so these ones came from the local grocery store for 66 cents a bunch. There were 5 per bunch so that works out to 35 green onions for the 7 bunches. That’s less than 5 bucks and it filled my 9 tray Excalibur.

Given the charts I have and the relative humidity in the house, it should take about 6 hours. These are going to be awesome this fall/winter when we’re making more soups and stews. A word to the wise though, be sure you enjoy that strong green onion smell, cause you’re going to be smelling it for a while!
