Hey Friends, There is important information at http://www.alternativestodentists.com There is another guy who wrote a book called "How to cure tooth decay". The premise is that if you have a diet with enough silica and calcium your teeth can repair including cavities. There was a dentist 100 years ago who studied remote tribes teeth and found that some of them never have cavities even though they never brushed. Teeth are not solid objects they are made up of microscopic tubes that transport minerals to the surface of the teeth. Teeth can remineralize. But only on a nutritious diet. Look into this. Get some temporary dental filling from amazon.com too for emergencies. Anyone buy tooth elevators and extractors? There's some teeth pulling vids on youtube. Olive oil and clove oil soaked in gauss can make a dry socket remedy. But dry socket paste is good to have. Don't listen to the nonsense in the book about eating unclean(unkosher) animals being good for your teeth. God labels those unclean for a reason. Maybe because unkosher animals have higher toxin levels in the meat.

-Teeth don't repair themselves. When you've worn away the tooth enamel its gone. Teeth do not regenerate.
-Teeth do not transport minerals through them to the surface.
-There is better information, science and technology to glean from Dentists today than those from 100 years ago.
-Kosher food is food that conforms to Jewish law. "Toxin levels" in your diet (whatever you mean by toxins) could be from any number of variables. Whether they conform to a particular religon's rules, have been blessed by a Rabbi, etc. has no bearing on it.

-They have a very good disclaimer to ensure they don't get sued by telling you you dont have to brush anymore.
-They dont tell you anything just guide you to buying there CD so they can give you "the secret"....

This site is B.S.

I'm not sure about all that-but I know preppers should keep up with their dental care so we aren't in need of it if the SHTF. It's also good to stock up on good quality toothbrushes and paste. Please for the sake of the people you bug out or in with-continue brushing. Decaying teeth are not a pleasant smell or sight.

There are some good natural remedies to help problems with your teeth but it won't regenerate. Clove oil will kill the pain, temporarily. You can do an oil pull (olive oil or coconut oil to help strengthen teeth. I personally swear by oil of Oregano. It actually deadens nerves on sore teeth like cavities. And will cause a big cavity to form a scab like covering. This is just the Oregano oxidizing if you use it enough, and it will help keep germs out, reduce pain, and keep air out. But its not regenerating your teeth. Its a stop gap. Can I use these things to stop a little cavity from getting bigger, absolutely. But will it heal the hole in a tooth, no it won't.

Thecrownsown has it right on this topic.

As a Christian, I hate to quote atheists, but Richard Dawkins has it right on this point: "There is no such thing as alternative medicine. There is only medicine that works, and medicine that doesn't."

100 years ago, if you look at coroner's reports, it was quite common for people to die (in their 20s and 30s) from untreated dental abscesses. If the top two improvements in health and hygiene were sanitation and vaccination, I think modern dentistry is up there too ... probably at least in the top 5.

Having already where my agreement lies, I would clarify that it's more important to have a means of clearing debris from between the teeth and from gingival pockets. I'd rather have an unlimited supply of dental foss / tooth picks / proxa brushes than tooth paste and toothbrushes. Granted, in a TEOTWAWKI scenario, we'd likely not have access to fluoridated water, so toothpaste might be important in that regard. Generally speaking, I'd just try and rinse my mouth out with a sip of water (swish and spit) after eating sugary and acidic foods. And if salt is available (or baking soda), these agents could be used to knock down the anaerobe count somewhat.

JamesP - if you save some of those pointed sticks you want to wipe your bum with, you can probably fashion them into field expedient tooth picks. Just a suggestion.

😀
