In Africa they use sticks(not the pointy end). You see leaves don't have enough friction and they aren't available at all times of the year. Yes, a long smooth stick is the way to go. Slightly rotating the stick while pulling it longitudinally and upward is a preferred technique.

Something real bad, for a real long time, will have to occur before I get down to using a stick. 😉

Can we get a video or slide show? It would be helpful. The wrong technique could cause injury!

I won't be using a stick either. Sounds very rough and there is no absorbency for various reasons needed.
We can use some washable RAGS if need be, the size of a face cloth or smaller perhaps. Some of those new
microfibre cloths could be cut down to size and might effectively do a good job of wiping and then
rinse and disinfect after usage and HANG OUT TO DRY . I am not a fan of microfibre cloths as
they seem to pick and pull on my finger tips almost as if I had dry cracks , but I don't.
One could try to find material that does not fray. Such as artificial shamy material , or fleece etc.
From the description, in a dire urgent need to dump, if no sticks had been prepared
one would then need to stop and shave off the the non smooth bits ,standing there with a bare butt.
Really not sure how effective a stick would be to remove all remains of fecal from the area.
Maybe it would need to be whittled into a V shape to be able to scrape the entire area effectively. 😮
Are the sticks intended to be rinsed and reused ? Left standing in bleach ?
As a female I really don't want to be stroking a stick in the area .
I guess we should have held on to those old telephone directories........maybe just the white pages.
I am thinking a soft pine cone would work well. They fall off the trees here, and take along time to become
hard . Meanwhile they are currently soft and already a nice shape , with a bigger end on one end to hold
and a tapered end on the other.
Should I get some photos of the pine cone I am referring to ?
Wet moss does the best...in my egotistical opinion. Not only does it do the job but leaves you antiseptically...squeakily clean. First hand (hehehe) experience.
Grasses, on the other hand...will do the job but leave you with an itch that can only be solved by later washing out your bung hole.
Yes. I officially said bung hole on the internet. Bungholio.....heh heh heh...
Compost should have the same effect as the mentioned stick. Good bacteria.
I have a Tactical Harness and I have a Tool Belt. The Tool Belt is more Useful.
Some big heart shaped leaves maybe?
Regret comes last, if it comes early its called registration!

When SHTF, what will happen when they found out you got supplies?
