I'm looking to replace a fuse for my CB Radio.

It came with a Type 6G2A Fuse, which is 250V @ 2Amps.

I can't find that exact fuse readily...but most stores carry 250V/2Amps but a different type. They are slightly different sizes but fit just fine when inserted into the fuse plug for my CB. I picked up some 2Amp/250V fuses which are labelled as AGC.

Are these okay? Am I reading into this to much and a fuse is just a fuse...? Just wanna make sure I'm not doing something wrong. Any help/direction appreciated...some snickering anticipated... 😆

If it's the correct voltage / amperage and the fuse fits, you're good to go. The fuse is designed to melt and break the circuit if the stated capacity is exceeded. So in this way, a fuse is only a fuse.

None you improvise, one (or more) is luxury.

The bigger question would be why did the fuse blow in the first place?

Good point. I will find out soon enough if its a one off or a larger issue. Armed with a pack of fuses a 12V battery and a multi meter. 🙂
