Glacier stainless steel cup to go with my SS water bottles, 2 pouches for the bottles as well, thin chargers/battery packs for phone, freezer and cupboards are full, drinks fridge is full.
Yeah Denob, i've been thinking about that too. I live on South Shore of montreal so it's kinda crowded. As soon as there's one case detected here (Québec), we might bug out to our cottage in Montcarmel. I think this could keep us safe a little longer until we can figure out where are we gonna go. My parents aren't too worried but oh well...I'll convince them 😆
Have you thought of some BO plan yourself ? Really interested to know how you are forecasting it
Edit: Actually, i might start a new thread on this...

Ready for anything...
We made the family decision to pull the pin on busy lower mainland life and go off the electric and gas grid to the interior of BC, having a simpler mortgage free, financially stable life. Selling our place in spring and getting out of here!
Got a second cube freezer on route (free) and chef has ordered a ship load of ground beef, steaks n chicken for me. Was watching CNN on the plane and they're saying beef is going up again ( and it's already doubled in a year).
This is my hedge fund 🙂
I made lip balms ( first attempt) and they are peppermint. Only took ten minutes to make 9 and so now I'm Feeling pretty accomplished.
Out of necessity, rotated a lot of dry food that was "sampled" by a mouse.
Also bought a lot of mouse traps.
Installed a backflow check valve on the main sanitary to the house....finally! 🙂

Got all my rain barrels emptied and ready for winter. Got brickwork done on the house as well as new doors (hoping no pipes freeze this year). Been dehydrating up a storm the last 2 weeks, making pickled beets. Found the heat lamps, checked them, made sure that I have extra bulbs. (in case the pipes do freeze)
Installed a backflow check valve on the main sanitary to the house....finally! 🙂
Curious how expensive time and money wise this was... If you don't mind sharing.

The actual check valve is about $150 bucks. The installation itself was maybe 3 hours or so. Had to break out about 2 square feet of concrete to have enough room to install it in that time. So it's pretty quick.
The prep time to clear out the storage room was about an hour (hammering into the slab creates a bit of dust, didn't want to make a mess of all the stuff in there)
400 to 600 bucks for a plumber would cover it I'd figure. And a couple hours of your own time to move everything out off the way and put up some poly to keep the dust down.

Thanks
Visited a 2nd hand / vintage / military store and I was treated to a huge copper kettle which now sits atop my wood stove and a clothes washboard. DH picked up two military ammo storage cans and altogether we spent about $100. A bit frivolous but they all have uses. Managed to obtain about 20 hand hotties / hand warmers, two pairs of thermal socks and insulated gloves for free ( source shall remain anonymous 🙂 )
Added to the cans in storage with the grocery shop as usual.
Repurposed the Thanksgiving / Halloween straw bales to veggie patch cover and added a bit of steer manure compost. Hoping to be able to breathe new life into the raised beds come spring. Been reading a bit about winter sowing for improved soil and companion planting.
Over the past several journey's to the grocery store, I've been picking up pain killers and anti-inflammatories if they've been on sale. I'd like to have a good supply of Advil and Aleve (or their no-name brand versions) on hand if the lights ever went out for good...
Also, for those in Calgary at least, Rona is having their 15% off any item sale. If there is a large ticket item you're still missing, such as a generator, this may be your opportunity. They'll still price match any competitors as well they said.
Replaced the "mouse-sampled, garbage-thrown" food and added extra. Bought several plastic bins to store all that isn't glass or metal cans. Makes for less organized shelves but we will manage. Placed a few more traps strategically located around the garage and house. This must work as we could affix a sign to the house that reads "mouse free for : __5__ days".
Cycled some of the gas cans in storage today.
Living in the USA for a bit, I've started a "wish list" ahead of Black Friday and cyber Monday. Not things I badly need, but rather things that I may indulge and buy if I see a good deal. (go bless Amazon, I'll go through withdrawal syndrome when I move back!)
I've also started something a month ago that I've been postponing for too long a time: I've gone back to training in martial arts! I used to do some karate as a kid, then Jiu-Jitsu as a young adult, now it's keichu-do. I'm the only grown up in the class surrounded by teenagers, but I don't care. It feels good, I'm learning new tricks while bringing up old ones.
