My Husband And I are looking for a piece of property to relocate to and live off grid with our five children.
The purpose of this relocation is so that we can prepare properly for anything that comes at us, and still blend with society while prepping. Having 5 young children means not being able to bug out quickly, so we are choosing to prepare and stay put. My husband is an algonquin indian who has been raised on the land the bulk of his life and has certain skills that would be useful in a survival situation, ie. Hunting, fishing and gathering as well as primitive weapon and trap making and has extensive experience with firearms and reloading ammunition. My Husband and I have also acquired practical knowledge of natural medicines, soap making, as well as producing fuel oils and preservation of foods.

What we don't have is property to relocate too or a lot of money to buy it. We also want to live close by other preppers.

Questions:
1. Does Anyone know of any prepper communities in eastern ontario that are interested in investers or new members?
2. Is anyone interested in starting a prepper co-op community in our region?
3. Is anyone interested in selling or leasing a small piece of land we could build green on (we would be willing to aid you in your prepping)?

We are continuing to learn on our own but it would be nice to have others to work with close by. We welcome any feedback thanks.

Hello and welcome

Sorry I am in the same boat as you when it comes to property. I know several have posted here about forming a community property. Hopefully one of them will answer your post

In a way it is... you just have to be willing to take the leap. It is in no way an easy thing... but I am certain that a given number of people on here.. who took their resources, made a legal agreement and then went forward to DO IT... could with little problem. Again we go back to the idea of trust and community. Both very difficult to develop and have in the real world. Just a few thoughts.

I absolutely agree. We currently belong to a first nations community and understand the issues of a close nit community. The whole of the community does not believe in prepping. Thats why we are looking to form a new community.

Ok let me say it another way. ATM it is not possible for me. Maybe in another year. Which is why I find the meets important. To get to know people to possiblily set something up.

Good luck, I have been looking as well. ATM due to my Ex and being self employed, no credit so no way to buy property.
A few have popped in and said hey we are looking for people, but the do not answer emails, so that is a bust as well.
Can you give approximate location in Eastern Ontario? It is a big place 🙂

Lol absolutely we are in sharbot lake area. And we are very serious about forming a small community to work together with us to live off grid even if nothing does happen. Better to be safe then sorry. We are looking to get a few people together to buy property outright and not go into alot of debt doing so.

For a while there was a bunch of People in the North of Kingston over to Ottawa area that were posting.

Go to the top right and do an advanced search for Eastern Ontario prepper community, and variations off.
I would be interested in doing a Work in Exchange for Ownership arrangement, or occupancy rights. Seeing as I am still going through Divorce number 2 and loosing house number 2, no credit or money here.

Whisperz have a look at this place.

http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=11558917&PidKey=-252583486

What you need to figure out is what type of land and how big of a piece of property you want and how far do you want to relocate from your presant location. Are you going to supplament your income with market gardening. In which case to need to study the type of soil is in the area your looking at. Do you need to change the Ph levels in order to grow what your family needs or as this listing suggest tap the sugar maple and create a maple suryp business.

I have been driving Hwy 7 to Ottawa half dozen types a year since 1987 when I started college. Granted over the past few years I've been looking past the beauty of the drive and looking at the land. That and using www.realtor.ca (I like the map section) I've found some decently priced parcels of land. But it all depend what your looking for. You can find some that are less than $1000 and acre.I've looking for some land in the area, with where you are being the south eastern edge of my search. I just haven't found exactly what I'm looking for yet. What I'm looking for may not be exactly the same as what your looking for. That's also something to keep in mind when your looking at communities too.

One of the few things I remember from one of my business courses was....Location, Location, Location. That little business quote applies to a lot of things in life. You need to find the best Location for you. Something else that just popped in my head was an old info-commercial by Tony Robbins I saw In Surrey, BC almost 30 years ago.

Key to Success:
1) Set a Goal
2) Aquire the knowledge
3) Than Go For IT.

Your well on your way to obtaining your goal.....So Good Luck
