What is the closest thing to an AR that can be purchased without a restricted licence

JR carbine comes in 45 acp ,40 s&w,9mm luger. mine is a 9mm ,ammo is cheap and out of a carbine it has similar power to a .357mag. Could be used for personal protection and with well placed shots can take from squirrel to deer. Price of ammo is important because you should be experienced with a weapon before you rely on it.

The Remington 7615, is a pump action Remington 7600 that will feed AR magazines. Not an AR platform. Not Semi. BUT it will take AR mag's if that is important to you.
I think, since the CF took the C-7 (M-16) as the main weapon for troops, the AR family became restricted. Just like the FN-FAL before it. When the C-1 (FN-FAL) was the main weapon of the CF, the civilian/surplus counter-parts were restricted.
I think the Ruger Mini-14/Mini-30 family Ranch Rifle is still unrestricted, but I could be wrong.

CZ 858 unrestricted. SKS is as well. And mini 14 an 30. If you want a unrestricted assault rifle go CZ.

the JR carbine is an AR platform that is modular, it takes glock clips and pistol calibers. This weapon was designed for preppers and is non restricted in canada. The only downfall is they are pricey (899.00)but alot of non- corrosive affordable ammo is available.

Early on they had ejection problems but its all been worked out. Go on youtube and you can see how accurate and useful these carbines are.

So far as I know, that's how they came. I'm not sure if the muzzle brake is permanent or not, I would think that it would have to be. If the muzzle brake was detachable, I'd think that they'd still have to sell it as restricted. As for shipping to Ontario, I would have to check into that. If we ship to other provinces it would be in accordance with their laws.
