After taking out the hallway carpet, I discovered a lovely mess. A lot of paint on the floor. Using a blade I have scraped off what I can. The floors have to be refinished but that won't happen until fall.
Any ideas on what I can use to make the floor "look" clean before then? I have washed it with a vinegar and water mix but it still looks really dirty.
Once I find something that works, I will be adding the product to my prepping.
Thanks
Short of sanding them down, I'm not sure if anything would work. Are they actual hardwood floors or old style board floors with the gaps from shrinkage?
From the pics it looks like paint spatter as opposed to the whole floor being painted. Nice hardwood there. It'll look great.
I know TSP will dissolve paint hardened on a paint brush, probably take off the floor finish as well but might be worth a test in a hidden area.
thanks it will look good when its refinished but right now it looks like heck. I am embarrassed to have people over with it looking like this.
thanks Perfesser. I will try that. The way it looks now a large test spot in the middle won't even matter
Smiling... always keep in mind that people who come to visit are coming to see you... not critique your home. If that IS their agenda then they aren't worth inviting back... LOL Just my 2 cents.
Is it to big to buy a carpet reminent
The carpet could be used later in strips between the rows in your garden to keep down weeds
