Covid-19: This Is Not A Drill

For the past few weeks we’ve been talking about being prepared for a pandemic. The time for talk is now over. This is not a test. Our preps are soon to be what we have.

The WHO finally declared this a worldwide pandemic. While most of us believe that this was inevitable and even well overdue, this announcement is a turning point. Markets will now fall, people will now panic.

Here’s just a little glimpse as to what is going on.

  • The US has banned travel from 26 European countries for the next 30 days as of Friday.
  • The NBA has suspended it’s season
  • Stock markets continue to fall
  • New Rochelle, New York declared a 1 mile containment zone, closing schools and places of worship for 2 weeks

Canada has currently seen well over 100 cases. There are cases where infected carriers have taken public transit for several days. Like it or not, Covid-19 is here and we will soon see a burst in cases. In fact, the situation is evolving at such a high pace, that this post is already outdated before ever being completed. As I write, stock markets have sunk so low, that trading has been temporarily suspended.

I really hate making predictions. I can’t count how many times I’ve denounced apocalyptic predictions or tried to calm people over potential threats. NOT THIS TIME!!! This is about to hit us real hard. The economy will take a serious hit. Health care services will be overtaxed. Schools will close. Containment zones will pop up all over the country. People will die.

As of now, social distancing is paramount. Avoid any large gathering such as sporting events, public festivals, any international travel, as well as public transit.

As of now, if you plan to bug out, make sure that this plan is ready to be implemented at a moment’s notice. By that, I mean have everything ready to go and be ready to leave within hours, not days.

As of now, if you plan to bug in, have several weeks of provisions at minimum. Personally I would have 3-4 months stocked up and ready. You will not want to be going to the grocery store and may very well not be able to. If you are missing anything, get it TODAY.

As of now, be prepared to take a firm stance to keep visitors to your home at a distance. Read into that what you will, and remember…I am not responsible for your security or your actions.

Whether you’ve been prepping for years or just weeks, this folks, is EXACTLY what you’ve been doing it for.
