Covid-19 : Our Bug In Day 2

When the WHO declared the global pandemic, I knew right away that things were going to get ugly. As of March 13th 2020, I have decided that my family needs to go into a bug in situation. This was always the plan, the proverbial trigger has been pulled! Here is a daily update on what we face.

Day 2

Actually pretty uneventful. A few household chores to be done, some wood to bring in, some salt to throw on the walkway. We did a bit of baking so we have some homemade muffins for breakfasts this coming week. Life is pretty much normal, just we don’t go out.

Our security cameras showed nothing abnormal overnight. Just one really big raccoon running around for a couple minutes. Traffic on our normally quiet road does seem to be a bit quieter though, but neighbors show no sign of really hunkering down with the usual trips out and about.

Outdoor chores have changed somewhat though. The kids are normally responsible for taking out the trash and recycling as well as taking the dogs out. Those chores now fall to me out of an overabundance of precaution.

I’m sure many of you are reading this hoping for life threatening battles at the doorstep, booby traps going off and security patrols perilously looking into every moving shadow…news flash, bugging in is boring.
