Covid-19 : Our Bug In Day 32

When the WHO declared the global pandemic, I knew right away that things were going to get ugly. As of March 13th 2020, I have decided that my family needs to go into a bug in situation. This was always the plan, the proverbial trigger has been pulled! Here is a daily update on what we face.

Day 32 –

Finally got outside for a bit of yard work today. Still a lot of snow on the ground, so about a half hour was all I could really do. I need access to the back of the property for dumping debris, but that will have to wait another few days, maybe a week.

A lot of time is spent every day preparing for the future. Not only in terms of food security and other pandemic related issues, but for the day to day business of earning a living. Things will eventually pick up. Things will eventually get back to some sort of normality. Being ready to hit the ground running is just as important as anything else we do. For the most part, it was a pretty normal day, with the exception that EVERYONE is doing their thing at home.

With the high winds we had recently, I figured a quick check on the other property we own was in order. Much to my surprise, roads were washed out all over the neighborhood. We aren’t completely cut off right now, but exits from our neighborhood are getting fewer. I also noticed some erosion from rushing rainwater on the property as well…one more thing on the to do list.

More news tomorrow…
