Are the rest of you worried about him becoming president? Everything I've watched gives me great concern. Like coming up here and taking what he wants or water. Or him having control of nuclear weapons! I can't see Trudeau standing up to him. But I hope I'm wronge. 😮

I'm speeding up my prepping and getting things ready because I can see him being the next SHTF!

Isnt it hilarious, I cant think of anything funnier, and sadder at the same time, I wish I could vote for him, but do know I am someone who would throw a wrench into most any gear set to see what would happen. I am reminded of some movie, for the life of me I cant remember the name but it had a guy sitting on a atom bomb as it was dropped from a plane....pass the popcorn, and mix the next one 4 fingers strong!!!! aye hell, forget the mix just pour it straight!!!

I give you my thoughts.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TecxIkLYL7s , cheers

Well, We are not supposed to be political on this board...and believe it or not...I am on that. This is not political. Its predictive. I am A-political...Heavy on the A...because people are generally fucked and basically evil...or easily manipulated. Not a big fan of humans.

As I gaze into my crystal ball...shoot me some positive energy 🙄 . This is what I see. On the canada front first...I have never believed that the Canadian rockstar would actually legalise pot. By about the next election it will be slipped in but it wont really be legalised. It will be corporatized. I'll let you sit with that. (Ya, Like we voted for leaving Syria. How is that going?)

Trump is actually not the worst thing in the world. He is just a catharsis. A letting off of steam. Worry about the next round if he doesn't get in. As John Michel Greer puts it, the next round "may be very fond of arm bands". http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.ca/2016/01/donald-trump-and-politics-of-resentment.html

I actually worry about (Its My Turn) Hillary. George Bush with Menopause. (My best non PC statement in a while. I would love a woman president. Just anyone but her. My Mom would be great)

Here is where it gets interesting. I side with Howard Kunstler on this. If Trump gets in...the Military will take him out...either through assassination or a blatant coup. Dont mistake the pentagon for chumps or patsies. They are...very... powerful and wont be led into world suicide by presidential populous whim. Boots on the ground. The White House ground.

Then we get to the Anti-Trump. Berni H Christ. A good Canadian wallop of restrained socialist reason. I'ld vote for him for the same reasons I would have voted for Ron Paul (good thing Im Canadian and only care in proxy)

No one else but me has said this...

---If Berni gets in...that is it for the US of A. It will set off a psychotic wave of McCarthy Era anti communism turned Range War and bombings. CIVIL WAR. period. Do you think the whole, Obama is the Anti Christ, A Muslim, that wants to inject you with a microchip with 666 on it and put your christian ass in a FEMA camp paranoia was bad. Give that three extra lines of Meth and a few billion dollars of corporate propaganda funding...to spin a rather creative Twilight Zone episode...but with real blood and fucked up souls.

....That's all I got. Spring is coming. I'm focussing on Restoring my orchard. My pigs need a good run. Next years firewood needs to be cut. I put in the maple taps. The boot licking Flag worshippers can kiss my lubricated a.........

My apologies if this is political. I was focusing on what could be our next SHTF scenario.

Nah. Dont worry about it. Its a legitimate question. Someone that brags about wanting to torture people and start WW3 is legitimately something to be concerned about. 😯

I think American politics is somewhat different then Canadian, and even though we speak the same language and act similar day to day....our cultures can be very different in many ways. This may throw us Canadians for a curve ball and raise some concerns watching the nominations right now. It is foreign how they do things down there and the first thing that usually happens when we see something we dont understand is to fear it. How they pick there leaders is very different then how we do it here. And vice versa...The Yankees who I know who watched our elections were mortified at how our process of "responsible government" in the Westminster Tradition takes place....where the Prime Minister is chosen through tradition...and the democratic right of directly picking our leader is instead done by political parties, etc. This is completely foreign to them and they dont like it at all. Add the spectacle of name calling, and general attention more to sound bites and insults as opposed to discussion on policy.....

I dont think Trump is a danger anymore than any other candidate. If anything Trump is a sign of how politics works in the states in the fact that: Marketing, publicity, and air time garner more votes. Trump has tapped into a feeling of frustration with America's own governance....kudos to him on being the one smart enough to take advantage of that. He is new to the political scene as he's not a career politician. So he doesnt talk like one....and to be honest after hearing politicians everywhere use doublespeak it is kind of nice to see someone talk more plainly and directly to the American people. Im not saying I agree with what he says....but at least he doesnt try to appease everyone by "playing it safe" with more "politician speak." Heck, he's even blowing away his competition by garnering huge support with minorities and women who he refuses to treat like "special" citizens. He treats everyone the same...

My observation...and my observation only....is that the whole process lacks any depth into policy and platforms...specifically finance either on the Republican or Democratic side. Its all about polling and what the robots should do to garner more votes... The only candidate who has any real experience in balancing the books and running an efficient government is John Kasich. (Took Ohio from a defecit and turned put them in the black now running surpluses, dropping taxes, increasing employment, etc. He did this federally as a congressman a generation earlier!) But that gets a 5th place showing to things like building walls, etc. Dont get me wrong...building walls may or may not be a viable option (I dont know enough on the matter)....but you cant build walls, or anything else if you dont have any money....and continual defecits and increased debts just slowly put America in a worse condition. so my opinion...they dont spend enough time compared to canadian federal debates on actual issues effecting the economy, finances, etc.

But...back to the original question...is Trump a danger? No. Is he loud, demanding, and different than what we are used to in Canada? Absolutely. Different then the American political establishment? He is certainly marketed that way.

Heck I remember Obama being touted as the eventual demise of America and who would be responsible for WW III across the internet....and Bush...and even Clinton. Be wary of what you read or hear on the internet. So much is just partisan politics and fear mongering.

Oh...and "Go John Kasich!" 😉

Yah. I have no idea where my wordiness comes from. I think it was because people thought I was dumb because they couldn't keep up with my thought process. So I had to figure out how to communicate with them. I'm not sure I pulled it off...

Thanks Helicopilot that you pointed out that, though we speak the same language...that we dont really speak the same language. I recently had to deal with semantics on this board. A good and easy way to deal with, " What is semantics" is to ask., "when you say '...' What do you mean?

I used to infiltrate Cults. Yah. It was a weird faze. Weirder to say it out loud. Every one needs a hobby. It taught me that, even though we were using English, each word could have a completely different meaning. I had to learn to speak their language If I wanted to communicate with them.

Helicopilot, Helicopilot Helicopilot. Bad boy. You broke the rules. I break the rules all the time...because I am me. But you cant just come out an say " vote for candidate...A". I expect more craftiness from such an intelligent person 😎 😆

View the American presedential election process as a carnival, a roughly year long, reoccurring event sponsored by corporate(Medical/pharmaceutical/insurance/banking) and military/security interests whos purpose it is to entertain the voting masses, and keep the illusion of democracy going. Like the super bowl its well choreographed, you can choose one side or the other, though in truth there are only two sides in the super bowl.
There can be surprises in a election, candidates go off script, just like a football can be fumbled, but in a American election (I am speaking generally) the winner is always the sponsors, and the loser is the voting masses, those who didn't vote lose too, but wasted less free time. This election a unsponsored player has showed up, someone with the deep enough pockets to self sponsor so to speak. This can happen now and again, there are Billionars who can afford to run, I remember a fellow named Ross Perot back in 92 or so, It doesn't happen often but can happen. This one is just as manufactured as the others, trying to brand a image that will sell, a foul, stinking image but image no less. Now he will generate those who will swear fieldy to him, true believers that bend at the knee, who love his promises (kkk, hard Christian right, living brain donors etc) but he will also appeal to those who see the system for what it has become, and see a chance to draw blood, to throw a wrench into the gears.
American constitutional democracy works....for the sponsors, this is a chance for voters to sink the blade to the hilt so to speak, a likely futile gesture but the only chance for the voters to strike back.......Can you imagine Hillory having to salute him as Commander and Chief, She would find drinking poison more fitting...( I would offer to mix the drink) ....and the republicans....well he gets to sit at the head of their table (figuratively) while he uses his spoon to fling mash potatoes at everyone and pass gas....
While he promises much...much that is disturbing, executing that with Hillory and the Democrats against him, and is own party torn apart by him as the head of it....well lets just say I don't see much getting done....and maybe that will be the least harmful thing that can be done to the voting masses....in maybe 35 years...That is until the next election.....
If your American....Sit back, enjoy the show, The sponsors paid a lot for it.....show your gratitude, applaud on que!!

( for the record I don't see him making it to be President. I see him crashing and burning before that point, whatever reasons are given, the real reason will be, the system isn't set up for the unsponsored, simple as that.)

Uh? Didn't even know I was involved in this one. Well thanks for the compliment C5!

I try to stay away from politics best I can, especially when being a token Canadian in a foreign nation...

But I'll quote an American friend that recently said "really I feel like choosing a politician now is like choosing which STD would fit me best."

Pretty much reflects my opinion too.
