Hi all,
From Elmira, ON. Have been interested in "prepping" for a while and am starting to get a bit more serious about it. I am so glad this site is here, and looking forward to learning a lot from everyone here.
So far, we have a pretty good kit that would make us self sufficient for about 2-3 weeks and a cold storage room totally encased in concrete, and extra gas for the vehicle to head to northern ontario to family if needed. But thats about it...a small start...but a start nonetheless! 🙂 I look around at the Mennonite population in the area (many still ride in horse and buggies, no electricity, etc.) and when ever there is a major power outage or something, I don't even think they notice! 🙂
I wouldn't want to live that way for ever...but would like that self sufficient ability for sure.
