Hello Everyone! I'm new to not only the Forums but also the Prepping world. I'm currently living in the Barrie Ontario area with my military Husband and 2 little Babies. While watching a Doomsday Preppers marathon recently I was horribly struck with panic at the thought that something was coming and I had almost nothing to help my Babies and Husband to survive. No supplies, defenses or skills. Thankfuly my husband is on board with "getting ready". We have many challenges to overcome, living in a duplex rental, very limited storage space, limited budget, upcoming move (a posting to be determined in a few months) and two small Babies. We have so much work to do. I'm so thankful for this forum and all of the valuble information and networking going on here!

Welcome,
lots of Military, ex Military and Base Brats on here!

Why not make sure you have a larger Van or Camper with a Trailer for prepping then. Since your moving, posted soon, you can take it almost anywhere in Canada. just a thought

Hello and welcome from Vancouver Island! Don't let that show get you too paranoid! It's so extreme! Just do what is affordable. Start with the basics, there's alot of info on this forum and if you can't find out just ask! I got 2 little babies too and I'm still not there yet!

THank you all for the welcome. I'm really looking forward to reading through all of the old threads to get as much info and ideas as possible.
Wilderness return thanks for the great idea with the Trailor. I'm definately going to look into that. I've been thinking about how little supplies we'd be able to pack into the truck if we bugged out and having a trailor would be the perfect solution. Might be a bit out of our budget at the moment. worste case scenario we could rent a u haul trailor for the move at least we wont have to worry about weather or not the movers will take all of our food and water. I can stock my brains out until then!
Interesting to see how many of the Canadian preppers are Ontarians. Theres alot of us out there! certainly more than the other provinces.
Wookie I am origanly from the BC. The lower mainland. And I remember in school always doing drills for earthqukes (as opposed to GTA'ers who seem to do Lock down drills in school) My Dad still lives on the Island and the idea of a Tsunami or earth quake (or both) is a constant fear of mine. Good for you for being prepared! At least on the west coast you don't have to worry about surviving harsh winters without power! If you have any good tips for Prepping with little ones please pass them on!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone including all ofthe military (ex, current, and familys)
Thanks again all for the welcome.

Hello and welcome PrepperBaby and babies and husband. Thank him for me for his service, will ya?

Interestingly enough, as WildernessReturn pointed out with the camper option - I have been looking over Smart Shopper and Triads (both generally available in any convenience store) with an eye to getting another trailer. There are some deals in there, especially if one can or knows someone else that can put a bit of work into them. I actually went to look at one (18' travel trailer) that was going for $1500 - all it needed was a real good clean out.

Good luck with your preps, and see ya around.
