Hi gang!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile....life has kicking me in the junk. I am glad I checked back though so I could find out about the upcoming meeting. Am looking forward to attending & so far my wife said it was ok for me to go. Yes...I am a bit whipped at times. Seriously though..it is more about respect for her as she isn't totally sold on the whole "prepping" thing. But I think she is starting to see some of the value in being even somehwat prepared.

So....see you you there!

Gator, and everyone else for that matter.
Just so you are all aware, the first presentation is about emergency preparedness for beginners. We look at it from the rational and logical perspective and try to get people to stop comparing us to Doomsday Preppers. It may be a good opportunity to bring the missus out.

Just a thought!
good to see you there at least.

Hello everyone, I'm new to all this, and live in Calgary so I'm planning on attending.

Can someone please confirm the location of the meeting? I first saw a location at Parkland Community Centre and now I see a location in Deerrun. Thanks.

srarmas,
It's at the Parkland location. We had originally planned for Deer Run, but needed a larger space. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you! Do you meet every month? I really want to attend, but forgot I have someone picking up some donated items that day. If they get there on time I may be able to make it.

We do not meet every month, we are hoping to do this quarterly like last year. It will depend entirely on the audience and the feedback we get. We're going to try and cover a different set of topics each meeting this year.

thanks for your interest.

Also, just a reminder that the first presentation will be around prepping basics. It is geared to those new to emergency preparedness or for those who have family members who have not yet bought into the idea. I will be approaching this from a step by step approach and including historical references and attempt to dispel all the negative connotations our lifestyle has suffered under.

Those of you who are seasoned preppers will not learn anything new but may find a different perspective on how you approach your planning. I just want to give everyone that heads-up, so that you have the choice to arrive right at noon, or later, closer to 2pm.

Thanks in advance,

Hey just wondering for the meeting do we need to bring money or something for the rental of the place

Preparedness is like a condom , I've rather have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it

We'll take any donations at the door to cover the cost of the rental. We don't expect anything.

If we ever try to bring in professional speakers, then that could change 😀
