Well, let's see...
Bring in more firewood...
Chase the cat out of the Christmas tree...
Watch the kids shake and rattle the gifts...
Check CNN to see how many cult groups have been found dead after gulping down the magic coolaid...
Look skyward often for alien motherships...just in case they were right!

What are the plans for the 20th. I would think you dont want plans for the day it all goes to poop. Or what of the 22nd? Should be an active internet those 3 days.

Anyone know what time zone the mayans are using for the start of the day? Eastern? Central? Mountain? Or heaven forbid... Pacific? Lol

Good point Buggie. Time zones weren't established until the 1880's and the US didn't adopt standard time until 1918. However the Mayan civilization began around 2000 BC reaching its peak 250 Ad and 900AD. So I guess today we would place them in the Central Time Zone (UTC-6).

One of the local radio stations is giving away "end of world" trips. I don't know what location they are sending the people to for that time frame. Lol

As for what I am doing on the winter solstice....no plans here, just a regular day

I never know what day of the week it is let alone what day of the month. I'll probably miss it. Being a farmer, I don't have week-ends and everyday is pretty much like the day before; get up go to work. I live by the weather, not the calendar.

Although there has been some discussion on what date the 13.0.0.0.0 of the Long Count Mayan calendar will fall on the Gregorian calendar there is very little doubt that it will be December 21st 2012. This has been accomplished using historical, astronomical, and archaeological data and allowances have been made for leap years, leap days etc. So we haven't missed it yet. Again we must remember that the Mayan calendars, all of them, were cyclic. So 13.0.0.0.0 is just another day on their calendar and our calendar. It will be preceded by December 20th (12.19.19.17.19)and followed by December 22nd (13.0.0.0.1). So don't get to excited.
