Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of a supplier for trout and/or tilapia fingerlings for aquaponics in the Lower Main Land?

I have been looking for a while now. It seems that you have to get them from a Government permitted operation. Sorry I just copied it from my blog

Tilapia farming
Just a few links for me for future use. I am trying to track down a supplier for tilapia fingerlings. One of the guys that I know that does the ordering for a very large aquarium store can not get them for me. It appears that I need to find a “food” supplier not a “fish” supplier although in this case they are the same thing.

A trick I've often used with good results is to open Google maps, size the map to your local area and search. "Fish hatcheries" in S Ontario will get you about 4 results IIRC.
What I would really like is Asian Grass Carp, pure vegetarian, excellent eating. Considered invasive in Ont., illegal to have live fish(even sterile ones) even though it's impossible for them to reproduce in a pond.

Wonder if they would ship to BC. Or, would I have 45 wildlife groups banging on my door for bringing in invasive species. I"m sure the survival rate for a cross country trip is low as well.

Heres a place that delivers around BC.

Snippet taken from the web site:
From spring (May/June) through to fall each year, Ted sells and delivers live trout to private ponds and lakes around the province.
Kamloops Rainbow trout.

Thanks. Also found one on Vancouver Island, Redfish Ranch. My indoor aquaponics system is going great. Better than I thought it would, using feeder fish. As soon as it starts to warm up, i'll be setting up the outdoor system. Sure beats digging in the dirt.

Does anyone have a system up and running? I've just built a new hoop house and wanted to do an outdoor setup but have an hydroponic setup that I'd like to convert to Aqua.
I can also build/design hydroponic gardens if any is interested. I have 10+ yrs building these systems.

]I have started an aquaponics system going in my basement, in January. It is doing very well. Currently, I have been using feeder fish (the cheaper ones at the pet store) and they are doing well as well. When the weather gets a bit warmer, I'll be making several variations of the system outside. One will be a floating styro version, using an IBC tank (those white translucent, square storage tanks in the metal cage. The other will be a PVC pipe variant. My wife couldn't get me to dig in dirt to build a garden, EVER. These systems are almost work free. I only have to add water when the levels get down.

I'll be setting up an automated water level system on the outdoor units, in case I am caught off guard by the evaporation. Hope to use tilapia and trout for those.

FYI Tilapia
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/farmed-tilapia-may-be-no-better-for-you-than-a-doughnut/article1058716/

Saw a show on TV a while ago about farming these fish and they were used as the "second crop" in the tanks after Sea Bass. Their purpose was to clean up the waste in the tanks before it went through it's next cleaning by some sort of snail. Then it was clean enough to be flushed back into the water course. I swore off them at that time.

I have done a lot of research on Aquaponics over the last year or so, and It is a great system. From what I have been able to find online is that when running small systems though, the water needs to be changed every cycle or two as It will go toxic for both the fish and the plants. It appears though, the bigger the system the longer it takes to go toxic. Eventually If you make the system big enough It wont go toxic.
