If you went to a Canadian prepping store, what would you be looking to buy?

What are the items you find hard to get in Canada? I'm presently stocking my online store and some feedback from Preppers would be awesome.

Thanks
Ready Freddy

Quality Freeze Dried Foods at a decent price are pretty hard to find here in Canada.

I do have two companies I do business with north of the border, but the prices are more then double the Price of the same product in the U.S. and the Shipping costs are incredible (Canada Post is primarily to blame on that one).

Any Canadian Business that can offer these products are a decent price and can perhaps find a way to keep shipping costs minimal would do really well with Preppers.

MRE's are a bit of a challenge in Canada as well. If you can find a supply of these I imagine they will move quickly in Canada.

and store the pasta separately

Milk is already dried, just go to the store and buy it; it's the only milk I use. Cheese powder (at least the mac and cheese kind) is already dried, just go to the bulk barn and buy it.

About prices, don't over charge us because we know the US prices. Why charge us $20 CND when the US price is $13 US and then our dollar makes it even less? Also, American shipping is often cheaper.

Why did I join Canadian Preppers Network?
Well I was going to join the UK Network but those bloody Brits don't know how to speak proper English! 😉

Mainly I'd say my priority is quality gear. If I wanted to buy cheap Chinese made crap, and sub-par prepackaged "survival kits" I'd get it from the dollar store.

Surefire CR123 batteries.
Quality mylar bags - 5 mil thickness, not the crap thin ones.
Oxygen absorbers.
MRE's.
Water filters.
Water containers.
UST (Ultimate Survival Technologies) gear.
Permanent Match (especially the round ones).

And most of all - keep the prices decent.

I priced a small order of mylar bags and oxygen absorbers from two websites - one Canadian, and one American. From the US site, with it's exorbitant shipping costs, the order cost $52. The Canadian Site, without shipping cost $72.

Big difference... I'd like to support a Canadian company - but a $20+/30+% price difference is not acceptable. I'll keep the difference and turn it into more beans, bullets and band-aids.

1 gallon (4 litre) mylar bags and oxygen absorbers at a reasonable price.

Have just started looking around for an affordable dehydrator, also.

Me too. I would like to find affordable powdered whole egg, butter and cheese as well. I know MEC carries some scrambled egg mix but they are expensive like gold. All the small packages of Egg Mix in Walton Feed are out of stock. I don't want to buy 50 lbs of mix that's worth 1800 eggs. 😮 That's ridiculous!

I just tried Amazon for mylar bags and O2 absorbers but "Sorry can't ship to your location"

Of course the local RV supply place will sell me small pouches for 6 bucks each.
