This is a weapon, not a general tool. I like SOG products, I also like Cold Steel Products, you might want to look at them before making a purchase.
I have it's big brother. The Tactical Tomahawk. My thoughts about the Fast Hawk is it small and compact and would fit into a survival kit or bug out kit. And can be used as a hatchet if need be. A buddy of mine has used his Tactical as a hatchet more than once on his tours Afghanistan.
I also have the Canadian Blackhawk Tomahawk. It Looks similar to the Cold Steel stuff.
Just looking for opinions.
If you already have the Tactical Tomahawk, you do not need a smaller version you need;
SOG Battle Axe
You've got a tomahawk, a hatchet, and an axe. But something's missing... Do you have a battle axe?

cold steel tanto...can't beat em!
Sure I can.... The camillus KA-Bar I've carried for the last 25 years, Both in the infantry reservers and in the bush. Done everything from fillet salmon to dig holes, to cut done an 8 inch tree for fire wood. Even jumped started the starter on an old chevy truck one night. That is a knife.
Ka-Bar can't beat them,
Kurkri 2nd place but very close, very close.
Everyone will have an opinion for every piece of gear. My thoughts ran to something similar you might like, though not another Tomahawk. Now If you have the coin, you can get a brace of Tomahawks, along with other throwing knives, now that is an encounter to remember.
I learned to Throw Tomahawks and knives of all sorts behind the Ledra Palace in Cyprus, made the Turks and Greeks sit up, take notice and call their commanders on the phone, loved that old Sargent Major, he was the best. The also looked the part of the bushman and scared the crap out of the locals.

Never had a tomahawk but I did have a few Hudsonbay axes that I use to throw, the knives took me longer to master. The Military Police wasnt happy that I was damaging one of the base trees, and I lost them all. I would still trim the pine tree behind the barracks with the bull whip (a few marks on my face) when I was pissed off though. My CO said it was anger management, so I was able to keep that.

what did you want to use the fast hawk for? I have one and have been using it for almost a year as part of my camping kit, its very light and sharp, tears through smaller trees and shrubs. throws very easily and straight (has a nice little whistle when you throw it right). and its done me well, Only issue id say i had with it was that it lacks the "oomph" and its weight is very light. I solved this by purchasing a M48 Hawk from United Cutlery and it has a great weight to it yet is only about 5 inch's longer then the fasthawk. aggressive look to it but it backs it up with its cutting power.
hope this helped

Sorry, I have to ask....you said the saw and machete are stamped(?) and even the saw teeth are stamped(?) ..what does that mean? What is "stamped"?
Russell Coight....outback legend
sorry to hear that, SOG used to be very good quality.
teeth on a saw are cut with a blade and then shapened but on the SOG machete and folding saw they are cut buy the stamping die that cut the shape of the saw or machete out of the steel sheet. Its like a stamp you use at work just the cut out that is used to make the mark with ink is used to cut out the shape for what ever you are making.
