I'm looking for women preppers in the Bowmanville/Ajax/Port Perry triangle - or somewhat close - might that be you?? You don't have to have much/any experience with prepping - just an interest in getting together for encouragement and support. (I am not trying to cause division between the sexes here but there are times and subjects that women need to talk about without the guys around.)
I would like to start a semi regular meeting for women in the area. On-line is always great but face-to-face takes things to another level. Is anyone else interested?? Please private message me and/or respond below and I will get back to you.
Truly wish I was close enough to come..

I am not in your triangle, but can make the odd trip that way if not too far from #7 or 401. I am more of a DIYer than a modern day prepper if thats ok.

Well - prepping for that time of the month, having babies, hormones and menopause...and anything else that women might be uncomfortable talking about with men in the room. Women just like to talk to other women and although I am interested in some of the manly testosterone charged conversations about guns, zombies and the end of the world and I enjoy chatting about prepping in general with the guys - I personally would like to have some women prepper friends with whom to chat about prepping from our perspective and the items mentioned above.

I am game but of course it depends on mom
In any SHTF situation...these will all involve the other 1/2. Would it not be best... or at least helpful to include men in the discussion..perhaps after some ideas have evolved. In that way there can be better understanding of the unique challenges that women will face. Just my 2 cents.

Wish I was closer...this is a good idea.
I'm the lady you're stuck behind in the grocery store with the over loaded cart filled with cases of tuna, peanut butter, huge bags of rice and the weary looking husband

True but there are some things women do not feel comfortable discussing in front of men. In fact some women are not comfortable with some topics at all and they deal with it in silence.
Most men that I know do not want to hear about things like cracked nipples from breastfeeding or the like. You being a nurse would be an exception to the rule.
Just my thoughts
I'm not close enough unfortunately, but I think that sounds like a great idea. I for one, would feel much more comfortable meeting with women only rather than a mixed group or lots of dudes. The only sad part about that was no zombie talk...really? 😥
If your home library contains more volumes about survival-related topics than your local public library, you might be a prepper.
Understood. Perhaps once you discuss and reach some conclusions you could share with the forum. Again I think it will be beneficial for all of us to be aware of your challenges and concerns as well as solutions. In that way we can all be somewhat on the same page.

Maybe you could start a group on meetup.com? Attract more people? In my opinion there are not enough women preppers.
For that matter, perhaps meetup.com would be an excellent place to require more like minded people in general?
It's better to prep for something that may never happen than not prep for something that does.

JAB - that's or your honest questions and your kind response of understanding. I think sharing some of the things we learn is a great idea and I'm sure we will do that in some cases 🙂
So glad some of you have chimed in - anyone else??

Great Idea,
so how about a reverse scenario.. Tomorrow (see other topic http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2920 ) I suggested a prepper meeting, so;
The Women can stay and chat about lace and other frilly stuff..
The Guys can go shopping, for Combat Clothing, Webgear and Survival items.
normally they guys want to have coffee while the women shop, so lets reverse it, excellent idea.. see you there at 9am,
Couples welcome = Anita bring the Hubby and let him have the cheque book >:)
cheers
Sorry can't make it today Wilde.
Thanks for all the responses from the rest of you. Redneck - I've never had much success with meetup.com but it may be worth a shot - thanks for your input.
Stay tuned... 🙂
