CPN Pillar Content: Find the reference. Build the system.
Canadian Preppers Network has been publishing since 2008. That adds up to a lot of practical preparedness material—and a familiar problem: finding the article you need when you are ready to work on a particular part of your plan.
You might remember reading about household water storage, generator schedules or setting up a sick room. Finding that reference again should be straightforward.
That is why we have introduced CPN Pillar Content: a clearly identified collection of core reference articles, brought together in one searchable place.

What Is Pillar Content?
A pillar article serves as a central reference for a defined preparedness subject. It gives you a framework for understanding the problem, organising your preparations and identifying the next practical steps.
CPN Pillar Content launches with 17 selected articles covering subjects such as food reserves, water storage, emergency heating, backup power, sanitation, communications, medical readiness, gardening and evacuation.
These are existing CPN articles gathered into a more useful reference collection. The new label makes them easier to recognise and return to as you develop your household or retreat systems.
Look for the Red Pillar Content Badge
Selected posts now carry a red PILLAR CONTENT badge featuring the CPN logo. You will see it above the article title and on its card in the article listings.
The badge is clickable. Select it to open the complete pillar collection and find other core references.
When you come across a useful pillar article, bookmark it. Read it with your own circumstances in mind: your household size, location, storage space, equipment, skills and available budget. A reference becomes valuable when it helps you identify something concrete to improve.
Find CPN Pillar Content on the Homepage
The CPN homepage now has a dedicated Pillar Content section, positioned between “Start where you need us” and the ten cornerstone guides.
Six featured articles provide a starting point:
- Build a 30-Day Food Supply — develop a reserve around the food your household uses.
- Store 30 Days of Water — work through quantities, containers and available space.
- Compare Grid-Down Heating Options — assess the systems that could keep your home habitable.
- Run Your Generator in Shifts — coordinate refrigeration, charging and essential loads.
- Build a Collapse-Era Sick Room — organise a home-care space and caregiver routines.
- Plan Off-Grid Sanitation — connect waste handling, water management and hygiene.
The homepage button takes you to the full collection. You can also use the Browse Pillar Content link on the Latest Articles page.
Search CPN Pillar Content for What You Need
Open the pillar collection and use its Search pillar content field. Enter a subject such as water, heating, communications or gardening, then select Search guides. That search is restricted to posts carrying the Pillar Content tag.
It gives you a focused route into the reference material when you have a specific job in mind.
How the CPN Resources Fit Together
The ten preparedness hubs organise the major subjects. Pillar articles develop particular systems within those subjects. Daily posts explore individual problems, techniques and lessons, while the buying guides help you assess supporting equipment.
You can move between them as your needs change. Start with the hub when you need the broader picture. Open a pillar when you want to work through a particular system. Use the related articles and equipment guidance to fill the gaps you discover.
Share the collection with your preparedness group, and follow Canadian Preppers Network on Facebook for new articles and feature announcements.
Choose One System and Test It
Pick the part of your preparedness plan that currently depends on the most assumptions. Read the relevant pillar article, inspect what you already have, and write down one improvement you can complete.
Then test it. Measure the water you can actually access. Check the battery charging routine. Walk through an evacuation load. Find out whether someone else can locate the supplies and follow the plan.
Preparedness becomes stronger when useful knowledge leads to a working routine.
