I see it mentioned in a few threads but no one says yes or no to it. I am up for a meet of like minded folks. Ya never know some of us mind be next door to each other. I like to extend my hand to help others out in a time of need (not just SHTF situation) all year round. Anyhow.. Anyone interested on a wed night meet up or some other night or noon on a weekend day?? I'm outside of Edmonton to the eat but would be willing to travel into Edmonton.. OR meet up in Tofield at the best ice cream stand in Alberta (no i do not own it) no i do not live close to there..
I would be interested if the date/time works.
I,m game just pick a place date and time and if i can make it i will.
Maybe ought to change the title for "Edmonton meet"
.
.
helicopilot what direction out of Edmonton are you? This way we can try to pick a central place.. Im south east (Camrose Direction) But willing to travel in..
I would rather we pick a restaurant then a food court as the tables in a food court hold four people.. A booth or table in a normal establishment can be pretty much any amount of people.
Would a Wed night work for all yall?
PM coming your way.
Hello People!
We did try to have a meet up last summer, but it was an epic failure. I've been searching for the conversation thread, but I can't find it even with the search bar... Unfortunately I've lost access to my original id here, so I can't find it via my old posts. At any rate, there were a bunch of us that were going to meet, but the organization of it was very loose. One guy volunteered to use his vehicle as the sole identification for us to meet (first mistake; no back up plan!) Oddly enough, he was in an accident on the way there, and never made it. What are the chances? That's what I thought, but SH*T HAPPENS!!! Proof in point! Anyway, it was really too bad...
So the unanimous consensus at that time was to meet on a weekend, and it was going to be at the Laurier Park, near the Edmonton Zoo. There are many picnic areas, and it is right near the river... we could walk, BBQ, any number of things... So I am all for it, and would gladly be the one to bring a bunch of balloons or sit there with a red rose in my teeth, if it meant some of us could get together..... FINALLY!!!
Sooo... tomorrow's good for me... 2 or 3 ish? Any takers? Let's say we decide by 12 noon tomorrow? http://www.edmonton.ca/attractions_recr ... -site.aspx Site #4 is pretty secluded... Oh, and Wednesday would work too...

De l'eau,
I'm from out of town, a couple of hours so it requires a little more deliberate planning. So, tomorrow wouldnt work or me...
If a bunch of us are from east of town, maybe downtown may not be the best option. That said, as you pointed out, people aren't necessarily jumping on the thread's bandwagon right now....
I am west of edmonton but I am very interested in meeting
The parks are busy while schools are out.. A bunch of adults taking up a bunch of tables would look so out of place..
Tomorrow is out for me also..
As for no one else saying anything about what area they live in.. We should figure out where the "central" location is for the ones that have posted. I wouldn't drive into the city on Hopes that others join us. I will just head to The icecream stand beside the water fill station in Tofield. Soo..
Wed July 31st I will be at the icecream stand. Grey Dodge dually long box crew cab, I'm a big guy usually with a cane. Blue vest.. Just walk up and say your screen name.. For anyone watching this thread i will confirm it was you once i get back to my computer..
I will be there for 6pm.. IF this works great.. if you need a different time (or day) PM me..
I am also just east of Edmonton and would be up for a meet!
Badges?, Don't need no stinkin Badges
Justdoit, date is in my calendar, I'll give it an honest try, hoping nothing will come up getting in the way.
